The compactor failed with the ram down, so the drawer wouldn't open which in turn made the mounting brackets inaccessible. This necessitated sliding a thin oscillating saw blade between the cabinet face frame and the counter top to cut through the brackets. I originally ordered this part from the KitchenAid website because I assumed I needed to buy the part directly from them since they manufactured my dishwasher. Five minutes after ordering the part from them, I went on Youtube to see if there was a video instructing on the installation of the upper dishrack wheel since I wanted to make sure I installed it correctly. I watched a video on how to change these. I had ordered one a month ago because one had failed. I had no trouble --less than 30 seconds -- to insert a new for the bad one. Then a few weeks later, a 2nd one failed -- there are 4 of them -- and I figured that I might as well change out the bad one as well as the two "good" original ones. I was repairing my daughter's WDT730pahz0 Whirlpool dishwasher. The bottom dish rack set of wheels was very easy to install. Most of the instructions you find online are for a different type of coupler that pops off. This model is different, as the coupler unscrews. I found a video for this specific model blender and I'll summarize below: Turn the blender over so the bottom of the blender is facing up You have to pop the bottom rubber feet off. Ordered new wheel assembly, which came in about a day and a half. The broken assembly was on the left front so I only had to slide the dishwasher out just enough to expose the two mounting screws on the outside of machine.When you remove the old assm there are two rubber washers on the back side. If you didn't order new ones,remember to remove them from broken assembly and install them onto the new piece.Overall this is an easy fix and took about ten minutes including pulling the machine away... 1, Removed roller tray front stoppers from each side. 2. Pulled out empty top rack from dishwasher. 3. Removed existing top rack roller. 4. Inserted new roller where old one was located. 5. Repeated for each roller. 6. Inserted top rack back into dishwasher. 7. Enjoyed using both racks again!! Read more
