I have a Jennair jjw9630cas double wall oven, and after a few years I noticed that the light would not go out, first in the bottom oven, and then in the top oven. After doing some research I discovered this was not uncommon, and the fix usually involved replacing the hinges and/or the hinge receptacles. The first thing I did was call appliance pros. The tec told me it was a good chance it was the thermostat. He told how to test it with my ohm meter and what range it should be in. My wife was using the oven and she shouted "emergency, oven fire" as i was half asleep in the reclining chair (I will be 86 in Oct.) • Ice maker dispenses too much ice

I replaced the ice maker after replacing the ice try and before that the ice chute gasket. All easy fixes. However, I am still seeing some frost build-up leading me to believe that the issue is just a faulty design, which I have read other posts on. Just too much warm air gets in the ice maker because it is located in the refrigerator, plus warm air probably finds its way from the outside dispenser, up the chute into the ice maker. Poped off plastics caseing inside the frigerator. Unscrewed 4 screws holding black fan inplace. Followed yellow wire to locate white sensor. Need to be careful not to break styrofoam, don't force it, it should seporate from plastic easy as long as the 4 screws are out. Swap it for the new one and button it back up. While I was in there I replaced the defrost sensor and the other sensor next to the heating rod. Also I know there is an issue with drain hole plugging up with ice so I extended the... Read more

I noticed that the bottom of the plastic bucket was cracked even though it was less than two years old. I called Samsung and they wanted to charge me almost $200. Instead, I found the part at appliance parts pros for half that cost. Since I replaced the ice tray bucket assembly, my ice maker is working perfectly! Read more

Since I could not find the correct thermistor from the schematic provided, I ordered the thermistor harness for the evaporator. I cut the harness and spliced it to the sheared thermistor wires on the roof of the freezer compartment. It now works fine with a little "farmer ingenuity" help. Replaced the burner Infinite switches for the burners having the issue. Here are the latest part numbers for this model Maytag. Left rear (LR) and right rear (RR) burners are both 6" and use the same switch. Part # WP3149404. Left front (LF) is an 11 1/2" burner Part# W10167742. Replaced fan motor, temperature sensor and defrost thermostat. Note: I had to replace connector on new defrost thermostat. Connector on new part did not fit mating connector in refrigerator.. spliced in old connector for new one. Read more

Replaced broken handle support bracket (part #AP5620448) and cap (part #AP5620751). Used a phillips head screwdriver and allen wrench. Pliers also came in very handy. If replacing cap and support bracket, be sure to install cap before support bracket, otherwise you'll have trouble installing the cap. I ended up not needing to replace the fixer handle (part #AP4372038), but I'll keep it around just in case. Read more
