Bought and installed new hinges. Repair took about an hour but I also cleaned all the glass inside and out on both oven doors. I had ordered extra screws as I read the old ones that hold the hinges were hard to get in as they were self taping but the screw labeled 5 next to the hinge were not the right ones. Replace your electric cooktop control knob if it's cracked, broken, or missing. This knob fits over the infinite switch to adjust surface element heat levels.
Turn off the electricity at the circuit breaker. Remove all four burner coils and pans. Remove four phillips screws, one in each of the burner openings. Lift top of unit then unplug two electric leads from old indicator light and remove the light fitting. Attach wire leads to new indicator light and slide it onto the bottom of the red lens. Lower top and reattach four screws and replace burner pans and coils. The knob is backordered so it has yet to be replaced by simply pulling up on it. Read more
