The Thermostat is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire dryers. It plays a crucial role in monitoring and regulating the temperature inside the tumbler. The thermostat works closely with the heating element and controls to accurately sense temperature fluctuations and modulate heating levels accordingly.
Symptoms of a bad thermostat include:
- Clothes taking an overly long time to dry
- The dryer is heating excessively and tripping the breaker
- Temperature display or heater lights not functioning
- Clothes drying unevenly, still damp in spots
Causes can be normal wear over extreme heating and cooling cycles. Environmental contaminants may also impact sensor performance.
This OEM Frigidaire part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator and some Kenmore models.

Frigidaire dryer error e66 then door open Nolan R. • Hoboken , NJ • February 06, 2017
My Electrolux Frigidaire Gas Dryer stopped working and I got an error code E66 that the thermal limiter blew from over heating. The E66 code stops displaying after the initial code and you will then get a door open message. I replaced the thermal limiter and the thermostat just to be sure which part at the problem. The job is hard because you have to take apart the entire dryer and remove the drum. Would be a tough project to complete on your own.

High pitched squeal and loud rumbling on Electrolux electric dryer model # EFME517SIW0 Curtis H. • Stillwater , MN • May 25, 2019
I encountered a high pitched squeal and loud rumbling. I figured the sounds were likely the rollers despite not matching other sounds on the repair videos for other dryers. The repair video for dryer rollers on AppliancePartsPros.com is of little use until Minute 2:56 because this Electrolux 517 model uses mostly Phillips head screw to fasten the front and top panels in place. You may find one latch at the top front center that holds the top and front panels in place. After unplugging the...

Gas dryer wasn't heating up Tim C. • Algona , WA • February 21, 2015
I looked on Appliance Parts Pros. com and read the problems that others had and replacing the ignitor made sense so I ordered one. It came by UPS within 3 days. I watched the video on how to replace it. Everything went easily, except the screw that held the ignitor in place was a philups head screwdriver and I couldn't get a screwdriver into the small space I had to work in so I went to Harbor Freight Tools and bought an inexpensive 90 degree rachet screwdriver for $2.99 and it worked great....

The Ignitor Assembly is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire dryers. It serves as the ignition source safely firing up burners to initiate drying cycles.

Symptoms of a faulty ignitor can include:
- The dryer fails to start or stop heating intermittently
- Cycles taking overly long to complete or feel uneven
- Excessive service calls relating to "no heat" troubles
- Risk of uncombusted gas pooling in dryer if ignition falters
This Frigidaire OEM replacement part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and some Kenmore models.

Gas smell in the dryer after a cycle completed no smell outside the dryer (until i opened the door!) Matthew M. • Mcfarland , WI • April 25, 2016
Frigidaire Gallery gas dryer from maybe 15 years ago. Based on the fact the the smell was only in the dryer, I concluded it must be the gas valve failing to completely seal when closed. After looking at the insides again, I suppose it is possible that it was a connection near the burner, but that stuff had remained untouched for 10 years so I still think I made a good assumption. I got a new ignitor as well since I was in there, and compared to the valve, it was cheap! I thought I could get in...
