Microwave won't power on or turn on? Failed thermostat causes complete power loss. This safety part protects against overheating. DIY repair in 30 minutes.
I attempted to diagnose the four thermostats/thermal switches in the microwave....two right behind the control panel, one on top of the cooking cabin, and one under a metal shroud above the magnetron. While checking continuity with a voltmeter, i questioned one of them behind the control panel and the one above the magnetron. I then noticed a burn mark on the plastic connector sleeve for the one above the magnetron. I took a scrap piece of 14 gage copper wire and beat the ends flat with a... Read more
Fix an oven that won't shut off, won't heat, or cycles incorrectly with this thermostat kit. Controls temperature accurately. 30-minute DIY install.

Microwave has no power or won't start? A faulty cavity thermostat often causes complete shutdowns. This part restores temperature control in 5-10 minutes.
If your oven overheats or won't maintain set temperature, the thermostat likely needs replacement. This part regulates heat by cycling elements on/off.
Ordered part and it showed up the next day! Outstanding delivery especially being right at Christmas time!! Read more
Oven won't turn off or stays on low heat? This temperature-sensing thermostat regulates oven heat and prevents overheating. Moderate DIY repair.
I replaced the thermostat and its control switch as it was not able to turn off. Read more
If your oven burns food or won't heat to the right temperature, this electromechanical thermostat regulates heat by controlling internal contacts.
I went on line to AppliancePartsPros and they had a troubleshoot page. It showed what my problem was, and it also showed what part number I needed. I orderd the Part two day shipping and recived my part. It ony took five minuts to install the part and it fit perfect and worked great. I recomend this sight because there parts are a great price and also they stand behind there parts with no question asked. If you want the right part at a great price, you need to call or order from this sight. Read more
Oven won't heat or shuts off early? This 60°C fixed thermostat controls fan operation and protects controls. Common fix when bake and broil stop working.
Following the instructions that I received through the helpful research of the APP staff, I disconnected the power, disassembled the back of the oven, and accessed the hidden element. This involved bending parts of the sheet metal and cutting the insulation, so I was very apprehensive about doing this. Once I exposed the compartment that contains the element, I had difficulty extracting the old part and was really nervous about pulling hard to extract it - until I saw the damaged element. It... Microwave won't turn on or has no display? The overheat thermostat often fails and cuts power as a safety feature. DIY fix in about 10 minutes.
Removed microwave from the built in cabinet (probably the hardest part) and took off top cover (screws on side and back). Had previously blown the power fuse 2 times in this microwave, so I checked the fuse first using an ohmmeter. This time fuse was good. Traced the power wires around to top side of microwave and saw the overheat "therm" switch. I believe the therm is installed there as a safety feature to open the power circuit to the microwave in case something was to overheat for any... Read more
Oven won't heat or stops heating during cleaning cycle? The high-limit safety switch cuts power when temperatures exceed safe limits. Moderate DIY fix.
Started with checking temp control in the oven. Worked fine. Next was testing high limiter switch. Every place stated switch was on the back panel, found mine place under the right burner cartridge. Took some finagling to expose it. Bought a new one, two wires to disconnect along with two small screws to secure switch, slapped it in and I was in business. Oven that was out of commission for over two weeks (never buy a part from Sears, always deal with APP's!) was on the road again! Read more
Dryer not heating or overheating? This thermal limit thermostat regulates temperature and prevents damage. Common DIY fix in about 15 minutes.
Looked at how-to video at Appliancepartspros.com. Took back off dryer thinking I needed to replace heating element. Found loose thermostat wire that had corroded. Spade connector on wire fell off. Stripped wire of insulation and steel-wooled the exposed wires. Replaced spade connector. Found out thermostat connection had broken loose. Tried to order a replacement thermostat online but had to get into chat mode with Appliancepartspros.com salesman in order to identify the right thermostat. At... Read more
Microwave not heating but all other functions work? This thermostat monitors oven cavity temperature and can fail from moisture or debris exposure.
If your oven won't heat past 250°F or stops heating completely, the high-limit thermostat may have failed. This safety switch is a moderate DIY fix.
The same thing happened about two years ago and when I took off the back cover, the high limit switch was melted and crumbling, so I replaced it and it's worked fine until a couple of weeks ago. We smelled a stinky electrical burning smell a couple of times and then it stopped heating past 250 degrees. Turns out the high limit switch was crumbling again. This time I replaced both the high limit switch and the bottom element and it heats up again like it should to any temperature. One of the... Read more
