Fix a washer agitator spinning freely or not turning clothes. This part restores washing action. Moderate DIY—bolt removal can be tricky if worn.
Replaced agitator and washplate bolt and washer. Normally this would have been a 5 min job, however the bolt wouldn't come loose. The teeth on the agitator were worn down and the shaft the bolt screws into would turn with the bolt when trying to loosen it. I had to cut out the agitator using a dremel and hold the shaft in place with a vise grip in order to unscrew the bolt. Once the bolt was out I used WD-40 to help get the agitator off the gears. Job took much longer than normal, but I... Read more
Washer won't spin or spins slowly? This motor mount roller and spring kit restores proper spin performance. Moderately easy DIY repair with video guide.
The washer was on, and I heard a faint humming sound in the laundry room. I went in and opened the washer and it was full of soapy water in the middle of its cycle and was not agitating. I also smelled a faint burning smell. At this point I figured the problem was a bad motor, as the washer is more than 20 years old. I have fixed it twice before, because the first time, the repairman said I should keep this washer going as long as possible. It was made to last with a metal drum, unlike newer... Read more

Internal drain hose routes water from the washer tub to the external drain. Replace if cracked, leaking, or damaged from constant use or obstructions.
I had previously replaced the transmission in my two year old Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine. Overall it was in good shape but gets heavy use. That repair was approximately $200 and worked for several months. Recently it began leaking. At first I thought it was the tub-to-shaft seal. I replaced this part but it was still leaking. Wrote down model and serial number. Went to The Google to find replacement part. Among other choices, A'pplaincePartsPros.com came up. Quickly found the part. Suspension spring that supports the washer tub and absorbs vibrations. Replace if broken, cracked, or stretched to restore proper tub support.
18 year old Maytag Atlantis top load washer had a load knocking and rattle sound with excessive vibration when the tub was spinning, but not when it was agitating. They was no water leaking. I took the front panel off and carefully listened while I ran a cycle and the loud sound sounded like it was coming from the drain pump. So I took off the drive belt and noticed that it was glazed and that there was belt material on the drain pump and tub transmission pulleys. I removed the drain pump and... Read more
Cracked or broken bleach dispenser cup causing leaks or improper dispensing? This replacement cup restores proper bleach delivery. Easy 10-minute fix.
The washer would work fine except it wouldn't spin unless you opened the lid and waited a split second for it to stop. You would hear a bang, then when you closed the lid, it would spin. Since it made that bang noise, I thought the transmission was going bad, so I replaced that. Nope, still the same. So, after a little more research, I found out that the motor has to come to a complete stop for the transmission to go into spin mode. After pulling out the timer and inspecting it, I noticed...
