This is a water reservoir tank assembly used in the refrigerator's water dispensing or filtration system. It holds filtered water and supplies it to the dispenser or ice maker as needed. Replace this assembly if you notice water leaks inside the refrigerator compartment, reduced water flow from the dispenser, or if the existing reservoir is cracked or damaged.
I had a slow leak at the water inlet valve where the water line from the filter assembly connected to the water inlet valve. I determine that the water line had scratches in it which caused it to not seal. Had to buy the entire reservoir and filter assembly to get that water line. The replacement was smooth. We turned off the circuit breaker. We then removed the light cover and then the control panel. Used U-Tube diagnostic clips to diagnose that most likely problem was a worn Evaporator Fan Motor which is located in the freezer back wall, located in the top third of the unit. The fan has a very thin wire in it's coil, and when that wire breaks, you need a new fan.
