• Ice maker not making ice

I used your online troubleshooting tips and watched the videos on your site. I determined my thermostat was defective, ordered the thermostat which arrived in two days and I replaced the thermostat and I now have a full bin of ice !!! The little piece that holds crisper drawer on broke off. Every time pull drawer out lid fell off. I ordered left side panel. All I had to do was take drawer out unscrew old part take track off old part put on new part and screw back in. Took 5 minutes very cheap easy repair. Read more

• Door sweating

The ice dispenser chute door had not been sealing for years. The ice cubes on the lower portion of the ice bin would melt enough eventually to then freeze up into a big, amalgamated blob of ice due to ambient air coming up the chute. Given all the symptoms, we figured that the control board went out. First, unplug the refrigerator. The control board was easy to access by removing a panel on the back of the fridge. I unplugged all the connectors and used a putty knife to release the board from the plastic retaining clips. I searched online for replacement parts and Appliance Parts Pros had the part in stock. Before I ordered the part, I watched the video to see if I could handle the repair. I ordered the part and soaked the gaskets with warm water in the tub. The old gaskets had a much simpler setup, so no cutting was involved. We first emptied out the freezer to another freezer, turned off the refrigerator, and let it defrost. We ordered a freezer door gasket from Appliance Parts and it arrived within a few days. We watched the video on how to replace it, followed the directions, and the gasket was successfully replaced. However, while the freezer was off, I cleaned the inside. Replaced capacitor and starting relay on the compressor in 15 minutes. The problem may have just been the capacitor, but rather than trying that and if it didn't solve the problem i would have had wait for the relay. Read more

I first thought it was the auger in the ice container so I changed it and it was not the problem. I then talked to ApplianceParts customer service that it might be the yoke on the motor that turned the auger or even the motor itself even though it worked. I ordered the parts, the yoke was supposed to be able to be changed by itself but mind would not come off the motor shaft so I had to cut it off just to remove it from the unit so I had to change the motor anyway because of this.
