This is a small filter screen that sits in the oil supply line of a chainsaw, filtering debris from the bar and chain oil before it reaches the oiler mechanism. It ensures clean oil flows to the bar and chain for proper lubrication. Replace this filter if the chain is not receiving adequate oil, the bar is overheating, or the filter screen is visibly clogged or damaged.
