I fought with it for a few days and finally found a video on ApplianceParts and was able to take it apart. I had tools all over the counter and all I needed were pliers and screwdriver(and to not worry about breaking it). Ordered part. fixed blender. Happy Camper! Customer service people were a great help. I think Sally steered me to the video and a gentleman took my order, didn't get his name, but both were a great help. Thank You! 

First called Kitchenaid who said it would cost $25 to mail blender in to Ohio for repair then $75 plus parts. But, they could send new one for $193. Husband looked at it, got the coupler off cleaned up the blender where the rubber had disintegrated, then went on line and found replacement coupler for $6.24 —although with tax and shipping the cost totaled $17+ which is still way better than the offers from Kitchenaid! 

I ordered a replacement part and it only took about 5 minutes to change it out, very easy! The video provided by ApplicancePartsPros showing how to change the part was a huge help! 

Kitchenaid blender approx 20 years old. I needed a part for it, but, the model number and serial number did not show up on the list. Used CHAT which, I had never done before and was helped by Janice B., she was great looked everything up with Kitchenaid and gave me a part # and then did the complete check out for me. Part arrived several days earlier than the estimated delivery date and it worked out great......... Thank you Janice B. for all your help and getting me the correct part. Great service will always use in the future.....
