Had a friend who is an appliance repair tech. Replace the evaporator, the heater coil, and the filter/drier. Parts were soldered together and the compressor was put under vacuum. Then, charged with 5 oz. of refrigerant. The freezer works great now! Read more

Looked for obvious signs of mal-function, burned wires, etc. I found that the compressor controller(attached to the compressor) had an obvious burned-out spot. Took a chance that was the problem (it was); ordered all new OEM parts, including a new timer and run capacitor (a part that kicks in every time the compressor starts). Evaporater fan would not run. Unplug the fridge and plug it back in and the fan would run for a while. Installed the UI-KIT SXS and the problem was fixed. The kit saved $ over ordering each part separate. I didn't know which part was bad. Saved more than half the cost of Main Switch Board when ordering the kit. Fast shipping!
