Estate Bake Element (Lower)
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WPW10163272

Restore consistent bottom heat in your oven with this bake element. When the original element burns out, the oven may not heat, preheat slowly, or bake unevenly—replacing it restores dependable baking performance and even results. What it does:

  • Supplies heat from the bottom of the oven during Bake cycles
  • Helps the oven reach and maintain the set temperature
  • Common symptoms of failure: little or no heat in Bake, slow preheating, uneven baking/browning
  • Visible signs can include blisters, cracks, or breaks in the element
What's included:
  • 1 bake element
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power at the breaker and allow the oven to cool before service
  • Remove mounting screws and carefully pull the element forward to access the wires
  • Transfer the two wires to the new element, keeping them from slipping back into the oven cavity
  • Reinstall mounting screws, restore power, and test Bake operation
Troubleshooting tip:
  • A healthy bake element typically shows continuity on a multimeter; an open reading indicates it has failed.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Our oven was turning out underdone baked goods.   Jack H. • Jonesborough , TN • April 03, 2021

The stove is about 19 years old. We had a difficult time getting baked goods to be cooked on the inside as well as outside (bundt cakes especially). I replaced the oven temperature sensor probe, used a digital oven thermometer (as well as the older type) to measure the oven temp. The older, dial thermometer hit and pretty much stayed at the set 350 deg F. The digital one showed a plus/minus 20-degree fluctuation and all seems well. We haven't baked a bundt cake to test, yet, but we will... Read more
