Removed old thermostat and pulled old thermocouple fron oven. ran new thermocouple to oven and put in clip, tistalled new thermostat using 2 phillips head screws, done. Read more

• Won't start

Replaced igniter and orifice assembly, and replaced spark module. Used the video for help, but the video doesn't show the top cover piece that needs to be taken off first. Also the screws for the igniter set were stuck from old grease or something and had to be drilled out. Overall the project was well worth my time for the cost vs replacement decision. Turned off the power. Pulled out the stove. Removed back of upper part of stove. Removed old control board. Took photos with phone to make sure I got wires back on correctly. Only 1 wire was difficult to remove and required gentle rocking with pliers. Put the overlay on the new board. Placed all the clips and wires back on the new board. Turned on power to test. Watched the video here, took the leap that burner was the problem and ordered it. Also found another vid on you tube that was more specific to my Kenmore. Tip: find out how to take off the oven door. For mine it was very easy but not detailed in the APP vid. I followed instructions in APP vid but also first took off back panel of range and tested resistance of old burner to ensure that was truly the problem (as suggested by other YT vid). My tenant thought that the oven safety valve was bad, but after some research, I found that the transfer of heat from the igniter had to be sufficient enough to cause the valve to open.Your agent confirmed this and reassured me that even if the igniter was glowing, there was a 99% chance that it wasn't getting hot enough. I unplugged the stove ,cut the 50 amp cord off from the terminal block as it was burned took out the terminal block as it to was all melted .installed the new terminal block with a new stove cord back in business Read more

The problem seemed to be with the switch so I watched a few youtube videos to learn more about how ranges work. After locating the correct replacement switch I ordered it on-line around 10 pm Tuesday night. The new switch arrived Thursday morning at about 10 am and I had my range back up and working like new in less that 30 minutes.
