Exhaust damper installs on the back of over-the-range microwaves to control airflow direction. Replace if cracked, missing, or needed for vent conversion.
We bought a house with an over-the-range microwave, which just recirculated air into our house--not effective for smoky meals! We removed the microwave and cut a hole to send the exhaust out the back of the microwave (and out of our house), but realized we were missing this damper and frame that go on the back of the microwave for rear exhaust. The parts fit perfectly and now we can enjoy a smoke-free kitchen! Read more

Microwave blowing fuses when door opens? Worn door release lever prevents proper door sealing, triggering safety switches. Direct fix for repeated fuse failures.
It took a long time to determine the problem but eventually I discovered that the plastic bracket (latch hook) that held the three door-switches showed appreciable wear from repeated door openings and closings. This wear stopped the door from sealing properly and the door switch safety mechanism blew the line fuse. I replaced the worn bracket (AP6230612) as well as the plastic latch mechanism (AP4553585) on the door that engages this bracket (and of course the fuse too) and the microwave now... Read more
Microwave runs but won't heat, or stays on when door opens? A faulty door switch is the likely cause. DIY repair takes about 30 minutes with basic tools.
I diagnosed this problem via the web and the advice was spot on. The problem was a failure of the bottom door switch. I used a multimeter to verify that the switched never closed properly. It took me a minute to figure out how to remove the old switch (press a release tab under the switch while simultaneously rotating counter-clockwise). That was about the most difficult part of the repair. Read more

I ordered a plate and support roller from you and it came within two days, unbelievable. My wife was very happy that now she could use her microwave again. The original plate broke. When it arrived I could not believe how well it was packed. You could have dropped it from the empire state bldg. in N Y and would not have broken. White door handle assembly for microwaves. Replaces cracked, broken, or worn handles to restore secure grip and smooth operation. Installs on door exterior.
Online instructions say to carefully remove the door inner facing in order to acces the handle screws. Easily done with a couple butter knives and some patience. Popped right off. But then there was a 2 piece inner "door" still in the way. Removed two more screws then carefully pried it off the plastic clips and swung out of way. Removed handle screws and old handle. New handle is metal not plastic and uses supplied machine screws. Installed new handle and re-assembled. Read more
If your microwave runs but doesn't heat food, the magnetron likely failed. This part generates the microwave energy. Moderate DIY repair, 1-2 hours.
This was a total novice job which will be apparent: Managed not to kill myself getting the microwave off the wall over the stove. disassembled the housing and watched youtube videos on discharging the capacitor (there has got to be an easier way than trying to cause an explosion). Fortunately it had difused and no sparks touching the terminals. Removed the diode and capacitor and checked both with non-digital voltmeter. Both appeared dead but it is possible the capacitor was okay since you... Read more
Microwave turntable stopped rotating? This motor powers the turntable for even heating. DIY-friendly repair—remove 7 bottom screws to access.
I removed the 7 screws on the bottom of the microwave that held the bottom sheet metal piece. The piece dropped down , exposing the turntable motor. I ordered the parts I needed, the motor and the coupler (which had broken), and when they arrived the next day, I removed the 2 screws which held the motor in place and installed the new motor. I replaced the sheet metal piece and the 7 screw, and then put the coupler in the microwave, pushing it onto the motor. I replaced the glass turntable. ... Read more
