• Tray won't turn

Start bye removing the three screws that hold the underside of the microwave up. Once those are undone, the panel pivots down. You then need to un-attach the lights so the panel will totally come off and out of the way. The motor is plainly visible. This was a total novice job which will be apparent: Managed not to kill myself getting the microwave off the wall over the stove. disassembled the housing and watched youtube videos on discharging the capacitor (there has got to be an easier way than trying to cause an explosion). Pulled the old cover off, and snapped in the new one. Couldn't figure out how to disengage the locking tabs on the old one, so ended up just breaking them off (they're not large or strong). Read more

Orderjust the door frame, $150 NOT door assembly $257. Remove the plastic cover inside the door(used a small thin chisel) It just snaps out, no screws. Start at the opening by the hinge. Then lift the door off, it is just resting on the hinges, no screws. Lay the door down and removed ALL parts. (The handle unscrews, the fridgedaire emblem was stuck on, just use a thin chisel, unscrew the metal seal inside the door and the latch and spring are already loose because the hook on the door broke)... Looked at schematic on AppliancePartsPros.com. Checked power, power filter, next component in line was the thermostat, found thermostat with signs of overheating, thermostat was open, replaced the thermostat, micro works perfect. Took longer to get it out than diagnose it. Read more

This part was an exact replacement. I removed the door and took out the old part and replaced it with the new one. Getting the door off was the hardest part. Read more

Checked on AppliancePartsPros and found the parts, once I received the parts I pulled the outer cover of the microwave and replaced the three switches. For the price of the three switches it was cheaper to install all new. Total repair time, 15 minutes. Microwaves back up and running. Very easy fix. Read more
