The Fan Kit is an OEM part for GE ovens and ranges. This part regulates the internal temperatures and preventing overheating.
Causes of a bad Fan Kit can stem from motor failure due to wear and tear, obstructions or debris blocking proper airflow, or damage to the fan blades or housing.
Symptoms of a bad Fan Kit include:
This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
We initially called a repair company who immediately diagnosed the fan, without opening up anything. They quoted $550 to repair. $159 of that was the fan part. Plus they told me the parts come from overseas and will take 2 week to arrive. I researched the model number and can part and found exactly what I was looking for on your site. Plus there were diagrams and forum discussions that boosted my confidence on repairing ourself. Using your parts diagrams and our manual information, we pulled... Read more
Fix a noisy or non-working convection fan with this motor assembly. Restores even heating and airflow in your oven. Takes about 30 minutes to install.
Very easy fix. Turned of power at breaker. Removed oven door by lowering two "keepers" on the hinges for the oven door and sliding the door out of the oven. Removed the trim plate at bottom of oven by pushing it up.. Removed 2 screws that mount to the frame of the cabinet at the bottom that the trim plate hangs from. Then removed 4 screws that hold the oven into the cabinet at either side of the oven. Put two 5 gallon buckets in front of the oven and slid the oven out onto the side-by-side... Read more
This control cooling fan assembly circulates air through the oven's control compartment to remove heat. By keeping the console and electronics cool during and after cooking, it helps prevent overheating and protects sensitive components.
The F9 error code is supposed to indicate that the door lock mechanism has failed. My oven would give the F9 code and turn off during normal baking at 400 F after about 30-40 minutes. It turns out that GE must have programmed the error codes incorrectly in my model, because the real problem was that my control board cooling fan was no longer functional, and one of the two thermal switches was shutting off the unit when the control board area got too hot. Fix a convection fan that won't turn or hums but doesn't spin. This motor restores proper convection cooking. Moderate DIY repair with basic tools.
The motor hummed but the fan didn't turn. Clearly the brushes were burned out. I ordered a new fan, although I had to talk to a human at ApplianceParts because my model was not listed. The part was a perfect fit. The only problem is determining how to remove the over to reach the back, no instructions anywhere online. But trial and error eventually worked. You absolutely need a nut-driver that fits the hex head screws on the oven to remove panels covering the motor, but a cheap... Read more

If your oven heats unevenly or cooking times are longer, the convection fan motor may have failed. This assembly restores proper air circulation.
This fan assy transformer converts and routes power for the appliance fan motor so the cooling/blower fan operates reliably. Replacing a failed transformer restores proper fan function and helps maintain correct internal temperatures. What it does:
