I found exploded parts view of oven and looked for oven sensor probe and control card parts. I also looked at great videos and read past repair stories. I decided the problem had to be one of the two parts (probe or card) and ordered both. I decided that the probe should be changed first rather than involve a circuit card. I changed the probe and tested the oven and it works again. Read more

I put in a new oven control board. So instead of putting the temp knob 80 degrees higher than it should, I dont have to do that anymore. Its nice to work with a nice and efficient co. Will be back when other stuff breaks down because when you fix one thing the other appliances get upset when they dont get any attention. This genuine replacement part is an oven control board. The oven control board is the main circuit board that controls the ovens' essential functions. If the oven isn't heating properly, not turning on, or showing an error code on the digital display, it might be time to replace the control board. Replacing a control board may seem like a difficult task, but it is a relatively simple process. Start by unplugging the range. After that, move the appliance away from the wall to gain access to the back. Remove the upper back panel, and locate the control board. Take note of the orientation of the wires using a phone camera. Then detach the wire harness from the old control board. Remove any individual wires with a pair of needle-nose pliers. Then re-attach the wires to the new control board in the correct terminals. Snap the new control board into place and re-install the upper back panel of the range. This OEM replacement part is compatible with General Electric, Hotpoint, and RCA brand ovens.
A very common problem with the GE oven is the dreaded F7 error code. I purchased the control board as well as the keypad and replaced both. The error code could have been either part but since I saw a lot of grease, I chose to change out both even though I isolated the problem to the keypad only. By resetting the error first by hitting the clock button on the keypad, turning off the power, disconnecting the keypad, then turning back on the power if the code doesn't come back it's the keypad. ...
