The Lower Spray Arm is an OEM part for Whirlpool dishwashers. This component is essential for distributing water throughout the dishwasher during the wash cycle. It rotates to spray water upwards, ensuring that dishes on the lower rack are thoroughly cleaned. The spray arm measures about 20 inches wide.
Causes of a bad lower spray arm can include clogging from food particles, wear and tear from regular use, or damage from heavy or improperly loaded dishes. Over time, these issues can reduce the effectiveness of the spray arm, leading to poor cleaning performance.
Symptoms of a bad lower spray arm include:
- Dishes on the lower rack not being cleaned properly
- The spray arm not spinning or moving as it should
- Visible cracks or damage to the spray arm
- Unusual noises during the wash cycle
This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.
