I replaced the large surface element first before examining the switch. In hindsight I probably only need to replace the large surface switch. Once I open the back of the control area of the stove the blacked switch and wire made in obvious that the trouble was in the connection and switch. Luckily, I had a new contact to rewire the wiring as the old was burnt badly. After cutting it out and connecting a new one and replacing the switch the problem was fixed. Read more
