Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The washer would not go into spin mode only partial wash and drain   Karen T. • Dearborn Heights , MI • August 11, 2017

The part is so new no video so I went onto a similar part and watched video that got me about 80%. Then, called and customer service sent me a service Manual but this still was not specific so I broke the old to get it out and in the process figured out how to do it correctly. So I installed the last bit of it which was the bezel through the machine top by myself correctly. So you take the old one out by pushing out to the right from the bottom side using a screw driver for leverage. It will... Read more

I am not an electrician, just a housewife with limited funds and a desire to DIY. I used the provided videos for knowing how to replace everything except the heating element which I just guessed based on other reviews and seeing how the other parts worked. Our dryer is 11 years old Whirlpool Gold HE and I have only ever cleaned the lint tray. My husband replaced the belt about five years ago and he did clean out the inside of the dryer. It was the day of my birthday June 6th when my wife came to me to tell me that the dryer was not working. Immediately I started to look for a new dryer from Best Buy and the rest. Then I said It would be better if I waited for 4th of July at which time I could find a better deal. This is when I decided to take it apart to see what was wrong. Initially, I thought of the belt that could be broken and I rotated the drum by hand and I heard a noise of the belt at times falling on the drum. I was... Read more

Inglis Dryer Blower Wheel
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP697772

Dryer making rattling noise or not heating properly? A cracked blower wheel disrupts airflow. Moderate DIY repair—requires panel removal and wrench work.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dryer was getting louder and louder finally it started vibrating horribly i pulled the bottom panel and the blower housing fan teeth were missing   Anthony C. • Newton , KS • June 06, 2015

I wanted to avoid pulling the drum. Luckily, my blower was easily accessed by pulling the front bottom panel. A couple of sheet metal screws were all I needed to remove the fan housing cover. I knew the fan was on reverse threads, i.e. righty-untighty. As it spins it tightens so no need for a retaining nut. I took off a screw holding on the exhaust tube and wiggled it out. I found the broken teeth inside. With the tube out of the way I was able to slide a crescent wrench in back and place... Read more

Inglis Motor Pulley
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP8066184

The Motor Pulley is an OEM part for Whirlpool dryers, connects the dryer motor to the drum belt, enabling the drum to turn and efficiently dry your clothes. This pulley is crucial for the smooth operation of the dryer, ensuring that the belt is tensioned correctly and runs smoothly without slipping or causing wear.

Causes of a bad Motor Pulley include wear and tear from regular use, a buildup of lint and debris that can interfere with its operation, or a malfunctioning dryer motor that puts undue stress on the pulley.

Symptoms of a bad Motor Pulley include:

  • Unusual noises coming from the dryer, such as squeaking or grinding
  • The dryer drum failing to turn even though the motor is running
  • The dryer taking longer than normal to dry clothes, which can occur if the pulley is not providing proper tension to the belt

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Took to long to dry   John R. • Delphi , IN • January 02, 2015

After reading the reviews of others, I ordered and replaced the heating element, thermostat, cut-off & the moisture sensor bars. It was a success! The element was definitely bad on one end, the wire was burnt in two pieces. Now it doesn't take 3 hours to dry a load! Well worth the money I spent. Easy to fix & do it yourself. Inglis Dryer Thermal Cut-Off Fuse And High Limit Thermostat Kit
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: 280148

This kit includes a thermal cut-off fuse and a high limit thermostat that work together to protect your dryer from overheating. They are typically mounted on or near the heating element housing and will shut off the heater if temperatures exceed safe limits. Replace this kit if your dryer runs but produces no heat, or if the thermal fuse has blown due to a clogged vent or restricted airflow.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You No heat   Dan R. • Woodruff , SC • November 30, 2018

First ran the built-in diagnostic tests. Got error code indicating that the inlet thermistor was open. Removed lower access panel and did continuity checks on the inlet thermistor, thermal cutoff and heating element. Even doing these checks is very difficult on this model due to the location of these parts and the limited access through the so-called access panel. Inglis Dryer Lint Filter Screen
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: W11778253

This lint filter catches lint and debris during the drying cycle to maintain proper airflow through the dryer's exhaust system. A clogged or damaged filter restricts airflow, which forces longer dry times, increases energy costs, and creates a fire hazard from lint buildup in the vent system.

Replace this filter if the pull handle is broken or cracked, the mesh is torn or separating from the frame, rust or metal flakes are visible on the screen, or lint is passing through instead of being trapped. The filter is white, measures approximately 20 inches long (excluding the handle) by 8.5 inches wide, and slides directly into the lint filter slot -- no tools needed, takes under a minute. Clean the filter before every load for best performance.

Inglis Drum Support Shaft For Left Hand Threads
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WPW10359272

The Drum Support Shaft for Left Hand Threads is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool dryers. This component is essential for securing and supporting the drum as it rotates during the drying cycle. It helps maintain the drum’s alignment and stability, ensuring smooth and efficient operation of the dryer.

Over time, the drum support shaft can become worn out or damaged due to continuous use, the weight of laundry loads, or improper installation. Additionally, exposure to high temperatures and repeated mechanical stress can cause the shaft to weaken or fail, leading to issues with the dryer’s performance.

Symptoms of a bad drum support shaft include:

  • The drum not rotating smoothly or making grinding noises
  • Excessive wobbling or vibrating of the drum during the drying cycle
  • The dryer taking longer to dry clothes or not drying them evenly
  • Visible damage or wear on the shaft or its threads
  • The drum becoming misaligned or not sitting properly within the dryer

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Very loud and squeaky   Michael M. • Chesapeake , VA • April 09, 2018

Replaced the Rollers, Pins, belt and belt tensioner. One thing to keep in mind. In the video it was said that the back and front roller pins were different by lengths.
