This thermistor is a temperature sensor that monitors the internal temperature of the refrigerator or freezer compartment and sends readings to the control board. The control board uses this data to regulate the compressor and maintain the correct temperature. Replace this sensor if your unit runs too cold, too warm, or cycles on and off erratically, or if a diagnostic code points to a faulty temperature sensor.

Checked compressor windings - ok. Start relay looked no rattle or burning. Start capacitor seamed ok but hard to check. No 120VC to start relay at any time. Ordered thermistor, and electronic control unit. Figuring it was a bad thermistor not telling the ECU it was warm and to turn on the compressor. Or the ECU was damaged and was not sending the 120v to the compressor. Changed the thermistor first (cheapest part and as Appliance parts pros has a return policy I wanted to start there). ...
