Needed to replace burner box panel (pan under electric coil burners) and replace stove top (black panel that surrounds the burners). BB was corroded, had a couple big holes from liquid boil-overs (salted water) from the last 10 years. The stove top looked nasty. It was chipped & scratched badly. Simple fix (pricey but simple): 1. Got the new door handle 2. Removed oven door. 3. Unscrew the old door handle. 4. Screw in the new door handle 5. Install oven door **Note: when the door handle is removed oven door's front cover will start to separate, manageable but easier with 2 people. Read more

I purchased 2 new light rocker switches, Because the heating element rocker switch was unavailable. First I removed the power source for safety. Then I simply pulled each switch out individually with a flathead screwdriver for leverage. I simply unplugged the wires from the old rocker switch, discarded the old rocker, plugged the wires into the new rocker switch, and pushed the new switch appropriately back into the control panel. Turned off breaker to oven, took pictures of existing broil, supporting bracket and shield attached to oven, removed screws holding element, support piece and shield, removed bracket and shield, pulled out the element, took another close-up picture of the wires connected to element, removed wires, connected new element, turned breaker on to see if connection is correct, turned it off, installed element, shield and support bracket (in this order). I knew for sure that the hinge with the large spring was damaged, but elected to replace both hinges and receivers. Replacing the parts was fairly easy and would have taken me less then an hour. This model has thin metal covers over the hinge assemblies. I found that squeezing in the sides of the covers help to hold them in place on the hinge while reassembling the door. With the help of Wendee and Karen, we finally figured out my model numbers and which parts where correct. I ordered the parts and all arrived the next day except for the Broiler element which arrived in 2 days. I installed the new Baking Element myself. Took longer to figure out which curcuit braker to turn off. In about 30 minutes I had a brand new Baking Element in my oven working perfectly. On the following day, I installed the Broiler Element.
