This is a high-amp SPDT (single pole, double throw) switch used in the oven door mechanism. It detects whether the oven door is open or closed and signals the control to enable or disable certain functions such as the oven light or broil element. Replace this switch if the oven light does not turn on or off when the door is opened or closed, or if the oven does not operate correctly in relation to door position.
Replaced faulty latch with new latch. New latch was different configuration, but the fit was okay. The only issue was that the wires to the electric motor were just barely long enough. Overall easy repair if you have a T15 Torx bit, phillips screwdriver, and 1/4" nut driver. Hardest part is removing the gas cooktop to gain access to the cleaning latch. 0. This is a spark ignition switch assembly with wiring harness that controls the electric igniters on a gas range cooktop. It sends voltage to the spark modules when a burner knob is turned, initiating the clicking ignition sequence. Replace this part if your burners won't spark when turned on, spark continuously even when knobs are in the off position, or if only some burners ignite properly.

Has three terminals.
When trouble shooting the problem I found that the light switch housing outer lip was broken allowing the switch to push through mounting surface behind the oven door. This is a slide in range so, I proceeded to pull the range away from the counter where I could unplug the power cord. Once the power was off like located the panel on the right upper side of the unit and removed the screws to allow access to the switch. SSVD48600Pon finally popped the control panel loose from the top of the stove. Took some manipulation as the stove is more than 20 yrs. old With a screwdriver finally popped the switch loose.
