Orifice spud secures the burner orifice to the gas valve/manifold and directs fuel to the burner for proper flame performance. Replaces a damaged or corroded spud to help restore correct gas flow at the burner. What it does:
- Holds the burner orifice in place and channels gas from the valve to the burner.
- Helps maintain consistent flame size for even heating and cooking.
- Commonly used when a burner has weak, uneven, or intermittent flame performance.
- Replace if the spud is cracked, corroded, damaged, or leaking.
What's included: Includes: one orifice spud. Install notes:
- Turn off the appliance's gas supply and disconnect power before beginning any repairs.
- Remove burner components per the service manual and install the spud in the same orientation as the original.
- Hand-start threads, then snug with the appropriate wrench—do not overtighten.
- After installation, check fittings for leaks with an approved leak-detection method; if you smell gas or suspect a leak, stop.
