Ordered dishwasher rack tine tips and bottle of vinyl touch up paint. I applied the paint to each tine and then placed the tips on the tines. I waited a few hours before using my dishwasher to allow the paint to dry and allow the tips to stick to the tines. Read more

I ordered a replacement part from AppliancePartsPros.com, however the exact part for my Kitchen Aid dishwasher had been discontinued. There were two differences between the original and replacement part. First, the original rack had two adjustable tine rows, but the replacement only had one. Kitchen Aid dishwasher is 11 years old, and the tines have been rusting and biting the dust one by over the last few years. Rather than further destroy my dishes by abrading them with rust particles, I decided to get new racks. They are terribly expensive, and I pondered getting a new dishwasher. I replaced the racks in both the upper and lower parts of my dishwasher. I was able to reuse most of the original pieces for the install but did have to order a couple from Amazon because the plastic cracked when I was disassembling the old ones. There were no instructions but a quick reverse google photo search of the part led me to videos. Once figured out, it was easy to replace everything. Read more
