1. Purchased a new Facade. The removal of the old one was relatively easy except that the two screws that hold it in place (behind the spill tray) were rusted (they should have used stainless steel ones) one came out with a vise grip but on the other I had to buy an "Easy Out" tool from Home Depot, once out the unit drops down. This is a relatively easy repair. Here are detailed instruction to replace the Control Panel. Tools Required: #15 and #20 Torx drivers. (Power tools not recommended) THE INNER SHELL DOES NOT HAVE TO BE COMPLETELY REMOVED There are 10 perimeter screws that secure the inner shell (#15) to the outer shell and six screws, three on each side (#20). After reading online I decided to attempt installing the control panel. For this particular model, I removed 4 screws at top inside (2 center are longer fyi). There is one more holding the panel in the center, but the front door panel needs to be removed. There are screws all along the inside. Remove those and slide the door panel up and out. So, this is a common problem, and the fourth time I have done this for someone in by neighborhood. Takes about 10 minutes, and requires very little skill. You simply unscrew the oven from it's mount points, pull it out a little bit, remove the four sheet metal screws holding the panel in place, unplug electronics, and plug the new panel in. After an over spill on the range one day, half the buttons on our control panel no longer worked. Well the bake button worked so we kept using that and only using the oven on 350 degrees for almost a year. Took the 6 hex screws out and simply unplugged a couple of wires off the control panel. Called appliance parts pros and gave them the part number that was embossed on part. They had it in stock and shipped it. I received it within 3 days. Plug the wires back into the part and replaced the 6 screws. 10 minutes top to repair. Highly recommend you doing this. Would have cost hundreds more if a professional had done this. Thanks !! Read more
