Ice dispenser did not work Magic P. • Riverdale , GA • January 22, 2015
I first thought it was the auger in the ice container so I changed it and it was not the problem. I then talked to ApplianceParts customer service that it might be the yoke on the motor that turned the auger or even the motor itself even though it worked. I ordered the parts, the yoke was supposed to be able to be changed by itself but mind would not come off the motor shaft so I had to cut it off just to remove it from the unit so I had to change the motor anyway because of this. So I advise...

Ice maker not dispensing Debra G. • Albuquerque , NM • April 13, 2015
Although the solenoid I purchased did not fix the problem, nor the "mother electronic board", or the motor, my experience with Appliance Parts Pros has been excellent.
Extremely easy to look-up parts for my model refrigerator.
Best part is their video instruction that gives you step-by-step hands-on how to remove and install.
I would highly recommend these folks. If a lady such as myself can do repairs based on their instruction, anyone can.
Thank you for providing such an informative...

Causes of a bad screw can include stripping, cracking, or loss of threads due to repeated installation/removal over time. Corrosion is also possible depending on environmental conditions.
Symptoms of a bad screw include:
- Loosened or detached components that were once fastened
- Reduced structural integrity of connections or assemblies
- Potential safety hazards if critical parts become dislodged
This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper and some Kenmore models.

Ice dispenser would not dispense ice Robert Y. • Honolulu , HI • March 13, 2014
The auger would not turn the dispenser because the screw threads were stripped. I could not re-thread it so I had to replace the entire motor assembly.
The video your company provided was extremely helpful not only for fixing the problem but to give me the confidence to do it myself. It was a very detailed video that included all the safety instructions.

The whirlpool side by side needed upgrade of control components William M. • Sunnyside , WA • February 06, 2017
The 20 year old unit still serves us well, looks good and has been kept in good repair. The condenser fan had stopped so I removed, cleaned and oiled that motor. The decision was made to make an upgrade to the evaporator motor and control units so that the appliance could reasonably be expected to have extended service life. The Ice maker module had been replaced 7 years ago. I ordered the parts and have made the upgrade for temperature controller and the defrost control. If you are in a...

Ice dispenser chute door was not closing or sealing Robert H. • West Palm Bch , FL • July 23, 2025
The ice dispenser chute door had not been sealing for years. The ice cubes on the lower portion of the ice bin would melt enough eventually to then freeze up into a big, amalgamated blob of ice due to ambient air coming up the chute. This melt-then-freeze would happen, to the extent the chute froze to its own closure. Despite service technician visits over a period of six years nothing they did resolved the issue. I opened the freezer door to reach into the bin from the top to extract usable...

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You
The ice dispenser lever was cracked and did no longer trigger the dispensing of the ice Andrea M. • Honolulu , HI • March 01, 2015
I replaced the Ice Dispenser Lever. Since the replacement part is only available in white and my fridge is bone, I replaced also the Water Dispenser Lever, so it looks much better.
I followed the instructions in the video, which were very useful and very well done. My problem was that the refrigerator is a KitchenAid built-in, while the instructions were for a Whirlpool, so the removal of the faceplate was quite different from what was shown in the video and more difficult. Also there were some...
