Ice maker not making ice. Michael A. • Franklin , TN • April 12, 2020
I changed the filter since it had been a long time since last being installed. Still no ice. I used a hair dryer to warm the water line entering the top of the ice maker in case it was frozen. Still no ice. I then ordered and replaced the water inlet valve. Still no ice. I then ordered and installed the ice maker motor module by following the replacement video that was provided when I ordered the part. After the wiring harness was reattached I heard the tray begin to fill with water. We...

Ice maker stopped working and veggie drawer froze all the vegetables Ann M. • Walled Lake , MI • February 10, 2015
I first read some threads on the topic and figured out it was probably the ice maker. I found the part cheaper somewhere else but if it wasn't the problem I couldn't return it. I figured it was worth a little extra money to be able to return it if I was wrong and it was something else. I ordered the part watched the tutorial on YouTube , and replaced it. The only trouble I had was getting the wire harness to stay to the side to get the ice maker back in. I finally taped it down. I fixed it!...

Drawer slide spring had broken needed to replace slide Sima H. • Great Neck , NY • November 23, 2016
There are videos on You Tube,. After removing the bottom basket, you remove the entire drawer including the door together with it, by using a screwdriver to depress the white clip on each drawer slide which releases the slide from body of the freezer.
Once you pull our the entire drawer, you will need to drill out a rivet to remove the old slide. You will need a rivet gun to attach the new slide.

The drip pan had basically disintegrated in the 6 years i've had the kitchenaid refrigerator Robert M. • Glenside , PA • November 06, 2015
Had to take the back cover off. It was very tight to remove the fan that sat in the drip pan but did get it off, was able to apply the same level of cursing and got the new pan installed, installing the drain tube was a breeze. Found the parts price very reasonable. Hoping the Whirlpool redesigned the pan so I won't have to do it ever again. I was surprised at how bad the quality of their original part was. Probably saved myself $150.00 on buying the part and doing it myself

The Roller Assembly is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators. It contains heavy-duty ball bearing rollers located along the bottom front-right cabinet. Repeatedly maneuvering fully-loaded refrigerators can cause cabinet rollers to crack or bearing races to deteriorate over extended use.
Potential failure causes include structural cracks from strong impacts or bearing lubrication washing away from repeated wet cleaning.
Symptoms of faulty cabinet rollers include:
- Resistance or grinding noises when tilting the refrigerator
- Visible bearing marks wearing into roller housing
- Potential for cabinet walls or flooring damage without smooth motion
This is a genuine Whirlpool OEM replacement, this part is also compatible with Maytag, Jenn-Air and some KitchenAid models.

I called Sears to schedule a service call for Sat. Morning. At 11:00 a.m. A service man called and said he was going to do the service call (the original tech was going to be delayed), so he had been scheduled instead. He had another call before he could get to me (an hour drive one way

Water dispenser made a lot of noise Pablo C. • Apex , NC • November 23, 2015
Water dispenser came down to a trickle and made a lot of noise, I changed the filter but it didnt help and thus the water tank/head assembly needed to be replaced.
Replacing the water Tank/head assembly was an easy task, the hardest part is removing the covers and taking care of not breaking the insulation of the water inlet hose.
For the not-so-experts like me it is also good to rememebr to have a bucket to collect all the water that comes out after the connection to the solenoid valves is...

Low water pressure from water dispenser following filter change Paul C. • Riverview , FL • May 26, 2014
Every six months I change my refrigerator filter. I purchased a new filter (UKF8001) and installed it just like I've done many times before. This time, when I first used the water dispenser, I got a horrible sound (kind of like a jack hammer/vibration) followed by very little water flow. I disconnected the new filter and reinstalled the old filter, thinking maybe I got a bad filter. No improvement. I removed the filter and put the bypass cap on and everything returned to normal. Since...

Water leaking from freezer James K. • Irvine , CA • June 09, 2018
First, I had to replace a cracked roller so I could roll the frig out. I did this by tilting it slightly and shoving a shim underneath. I had to use two shims to get enough clearance for the wheel. I unscrewed the old wheel, screwed in the new one pretty easy, removed the shims and rolled it out.
Then I unplugged the frig from the power socket, removed 6 screws from the back panel, and pulled out the old drain kit, which had become clogged with dirt and dust. I put in the new drain kit,...
