Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Kenmore dishwasher would not drain although the motor ran and sloshed water around as usual.   Gregory J. • Albany , CA • June 20, 2022

I checked the drain hose for blocking at the garbage disposal and then at the connection point to the dishwasher. The hose was clear and nothing was obviously obstructing where the drain hose connects to the dishwasher. At this point I Googled the model number with the term "will not drain" and immediately landed on the AppliancePartsPros.com website. At the Drain & Wash Impeller Kit page amazingly had a video showing the technician replacing the impeller on a dishwasher essentially the same as... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dishwasher door panel was rusting   Prashant K. • Fishers , IN • October 11, 2014

I had no hope of separating the panel from the frame without damaging the frame since the two parts were rusted pretty badly and the screws holding the panel to the frame were completely beyond salvage. So I had to replace both the panel and the frame. I ended up removing the electrical/electronic connections, removing the panel/frame from the hinge and then replacing it with the new parts. Took about 90 minutes but the hardest part was removing other items from the rusting frame without... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Leaks from around the door and from the pump motor   Samuel M. • Sudbury , MA • January 12, 2016

1. To fix the leaks from around the door, I replaced the upper and lower door seals. These were purchased in a separate transcation, so they are not the parts shown here. The upper door seal worked as intended, but the lower seal would not stay in place on the lower edge of the door during a wash. Therefore I cleaned the grease and detergent off the old seal, and installed using silicone sealer/adhesive. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Loud dishwasher producing dirty dishes   Leon F. • Sylmar , CA • November 11, 2015

I nearly shelled out for a new Kitchenaid when I remembered APP and entered my model # just for fun. The interactive diagrams and install videos showed where all the parts "should" be, mine were badly disintegrated, so I replaced the damaged ones and swapped out all of the other easily accessible seals and bearings (also gave it a good and very disturbing cleaning). My parts surprisingly arrived next day and for about $40, the dishwasher is quiet and works like new again. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You My dishwasher was leaking out copious amounts of water while cycling   Michael K. • Oakland , MI • July 11, 2019

While at my sister's house, she showed me how to access & dismantle the housing unit on her dishwasher, thinking the issue might be from that area. So, when I came home, I opened up my housing unit and found that several of the screws had come out and the pump outlet seal was stretched out and partially outside of the unit itself. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dishwasher would not start   Mark M. • Midlothian , VA • July 16, 2016

Maytag Dishwasher (about 5 years old). Some of the buttons had stopped functioning. Then the Start button began choosing whether or not to work. Eventually it would not start at all. Upon removing the control panel, the first thing I noticed was that the brackets that hold the two lower screws were broken. (So this was the reason that the door was so hard to open from the time it was new.) I trouble shot the thermal fuse, the door-latch switches, and inspected the control board trying to find... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Inadequate cleaning of dishes / detergent residue all over the interior   Randy N. • Elkhart , IN • September 19, 2015

I cleaned all the jet nozzles with a toothpick and a pipe cleaner to remove the hard water deposits. I then replace the ring bearing under the bottom spray wand and the ring bearing under the upper spray wand. I also replaced the smaller radial ring bearing.
