The repair itself is pretty basic, remove broken parts and replace with new, but the process is much more challenging on the freezer door than on the fridge side since the water lines are routed through the hinge. This is definitely a two person job and you will be laying on the floor to do it. 1st thing is to turn the water off and remove the ice bucket. The blower motor that circulates air through the refrigerator was broken. I had to remove all the shelving and drawers from the refrigerator. Then I had to remove the plastic light cover from the center of the fridge. Then I removed all visible screws to uncover the evaporator/radiator. I then unplugged the light bulb and motor wires. I took all the items out of the refrigerator. Removed the screws that hold the cover over the evaporator motor. Than for three hours used a hair drier to remove ice. The panel was frozen on if you pull on it it will break. Soaked up all the water removed the panel and took the fan blade off. That was difficult because it looks like a regular screw head however, you need to push in that which will cause it to release the blades and than push it onto the new motor. I removed the door and the hinge assembly from the right side; it turns out the grommet had never been installed and this is what was causing the door to grind down the metal hinge. It was remarkably easy to replace and my door is working perfectly! Read more

Ordered the pieces from here. Downloaded the user manual. I never work on appliances but I couldn't justify the $200 a service tech would have charged to fix a $35 part. Followed the manual and removed the door. Replaced the broken plastic pieces. BE VERY CAREFUL not to strip the screws. I did and that's another story. Very easy to fix. You will need a second person to help guide the door back onto the frame. Read more

Repair required removing all of the interior drawers & shelves and the interior back panel. There you will find the defrost heater. Behind the defrost heater is a metal plate as well as one on the back of the front interior cover. Both were corroded and in need of replacement. I ordered Samsung part #’s AP5577767, plate drain & AP5587916, evaporator plate and replaced both. Read more

The start button had been tricky to use. You had to push it in just a certain way to get the dryer to start. Eventually it was non-responsive. All other controls worked and there was no error code displayed. The repair was to replace the whole control board which cost around $100. Heavy sigh.. Be sure to keep track of all your screws. I replaced the temperature sensor, the thermo fuse, and the heating element that thaws the evaporator on a cycle to keep the evaporator from freezing up. The most time consuming part of the repair was waiting for the fridge to thaw out so that I could remove the cover. I disconnected the fridge the night before and placed a fan on low with the doors open so that it was thawed out when I awoke.
