Normally, I hire someone to come fix washer or dryer problems as time is limited and if the cost is close or more than the machine, I buy a new one instead. But since we are on shelter-in-place, I figure I could repair it since I have more time on my hands and my brother assured me, it was not hard to do. I took the top panel, door off and then looked online to find a service manual, which allowed me to take the front panel off. My suspected drain hose was the failure mode: the rubber tube... I took apart the washer to find both of the weight balancers had broken in 2 and were banging around. They had also caused the boot seal to rip. I removed the broken weight balancers and replaced them along with a new boot seal. There was one small spot with the seal wasn't fully attached to the outer drum so I had to take it back apart to fix that minor error on my part. Otherwise, it was a fairly easy fix. Read more

• Door latch failure

I removed the wire and rubber seal in order to get to the door lacth then I unscrewed the three screws popped out the latch put the screws and the rubber and wire back and tested the washer. The door now locks and I can wash again...YEPPPPY Read more

Ordered a new knob and took out little bits of the old one. Took the new knob and pressed it over the stump and presto works like new. Read more

Needed to replace washer counter balance. Also order shock absorbers in case they needed to be replaced, fortunately they didn't need replacement and will be returned. I used Appliance Parts Pros many time and always found them to be very helpful and the repair videos are very helpful. Read more

With all the bouncing around the shocks appeared to be done in but that was not the issue. The key was the balance ring. It had leaked all the fluid out causing all the beads to clump. This caused the drum to wobble wildly and not spin at speed. Getting to the ring to replace it is not a trivial task and took me several hours. I first check the schematics to find the heat sensor. On my model it's c on the control panel. I checked the continuity on the orange and white wires. It showed some continuity but not much. I then went to the heater element and found the orange and white wires going to the thermistor. Turns out the heater element and thermistor need repalced. Read more

We are moving soon. In checking, I found that a front loading washing machine tub must be stabilized using shipping bolts. I found the correct items on line at AppliancePartsPros.com. "Chris" of your staff was very helpful. He informed me that my washer required only 3 shipping bolt assemblies, instead of the four I expected to buy. Machine was a front load washer, after doing some research found that problem is usually caused by pressure sensor or the spider arm which attaches motor to tub. Read more
