The carburetor kit contains the essential internal components needed to rebuild or replace the carburetor on a small gas-powered engine. The carburetor mixes air and fuel in the correct ratio to keep the engine running smoothly and efficiently. Use this kit if your equipment is hard to start, runs roughly, stalls frequently, or the engine surges and won't hold a steady speed.
The carburetor is the part of the chainsaw that mixes air from the intake valve system and gas before the fuel mixture goes to the engine. This ensures that the chainsaw is capable of continuing to run while it is in use. A bad carburetor will cause problems with how the chainsaw runs, and it may stop running during work. If the engine does not start when the tank is full of fresh fuel, test the carburetor. Start by removing the air filter and pouring a teaspoon of fuel onto the carburetor. Then, pull the starter rope to start the engine. If the engine starts but quickly dies, it means that the carburetor will likely need to be replaced. The replacement of the new carburetor is fairly simple. Remove the rear cover on the chainsaw to remove the old carburetor. Once you have removed the old carburetor, you can then install the new carburetor. Replace the cover and test the chainsaw. This is an OEM sourced part that will work with several models of chainsaws from Poulan and Craftsman.
