David D March 13, 2018 for Model Number FRS23LH5SDT My Frigidaire water dispenser has recently stopped. Not long ago I changed the filter. The ice dispenser is working fine. The door line is not frozen, as I disconnected the door hose at floor and it still will not dispense. Is there a way to isolate whether it is the switch in front, or the valve in back, or something else? Can the switch be bypassed or checked for continuity?
1 Answer David, You will want to pull the unit out and put a meter on the dispenser part of the valve. You will then want to make sure that when the dispenser lever is pushed it should have 120 vac to the water valve. If there is proper voltage then this will be a bad valve. If there is not then the switch would likely be the issue. Read More...
Stephen R. February 18, 2018 for Model Number FFHS2611LW7 Water does not shut off on water dispenser is that the switch or something else?
1 Answer Hello Stephen, if you can get the water to stop flowing when you unplug the unit from the wall then the culprit will be the switch 241689106. If you have to turn off the water tap, then it will be your water valve part number 242252702. Hope this helps! Read More...
Kevin January 11, 2018 I have a Frigidaire side-by-side with water and ice in the door. Both cubes and crush lights are on and it does not dispense water. Could it be a filter problem or something else?
1 Answer Hello Kevin, This will most likely be an issue with the dispenser board. For a proper diagnosis, we would need you to please post a new question including the model number from the units' I.D. tag so we can look up the specific configuration you have in your home. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Read More...
Karen Denning November 15, 2017 for Model Number GLHS238ZDS4 Water comes out of the water dispenser when I push the ice dispenser lever! The ice dispenser doesn't work at all. We've replaced the motor, but probably need to test the dispenser switch.
1 Answer Karen, The dispenser switch operates the water and ice and you will want to check the harness at the bottom of the door for corrosion or damaged. If this checks then the issue will be a faulty dispenser control . Read More...
Brian R. September 21, 2017 for Model Number PHSC39EESS5 Intermittently, when depressing the water dispenser actuator, the motor turns on and off very rapidly (water flow also rapidly starts and stops.) The related noise sounds like a solenoid going on and off. Applying heavier pressure to actuator sometimes (not always) restores normal operation. Thanks for any thoughts on which part needs replacing.
1 Answer Brian, It would be recommended to check for a cracked dispenser lever as it sounds likely that it may be cracked and not allowing full depression of the switch. Read More...
Raymond August 25, 2017 for Model Number frigidaire Ice maker stopped completely looks to not be getting water is there a valve someplace.
1 Answer Raymond, There would be a water valve on the back of the unit for the ice and water. Check to make sure that the water valve there will be 120 vac at the valve. If there is proper voltage then the valve would be the issue. Read More...
Paul G July 23, 2017 for Model Number LGUB2642LFO Ice maker dispenser switch does not shut off for water or ice. Even if you open the door it continues to dispense. What part do I need?
1 Answer Paul, With the dispenser not shutting off even with the door open then this will most likely be a main control board that is faulty and will need to replace part number 241996359. Read More...
David M June 24, 2017 for Model Number KSSC48QMS01 Please see my previous question about the upper portion of the ice dispenser lever not completely engaging the micro-switches for the auger and light when pushed with a cup.I had the wrong model number of the fridge. The model number of my fridge is: KSSC48QMS01
1 Answer David, This issue sounds likely that the dispenser arm is malformed or damaged causing this issue to occur and may need the dispenser arm W10856124. Read More...
David M. June 21, 2017 for Model Number Kitchenaid KSSM48QS01 Ice won't dispense when I push the dispenser lever with a cup, even with force all the way to the back. If I pull the cup away and reach in to grab the ice door with my hand before the delay plunger allows it to close fully, and then pull the door all the way open (towards me), then push the lever with the cup, ice will dispense. I've taken off the dispenser cover to see what is going on and it looks like when I push a cup against the dispenser lever, the upper portion of the lever doesn't quite push the micro-switch on. However, when you move the door fully open by hand, then push the lever (lower part), the upper part does reach and fully engage the micro-switch. If I push the back of the micro-switches and then push the dispenser lever with a cup, the upper part does engage the micro-switches. I suppose I could shim the back of the micro-switches to push them forward a bit, or build up the upper part of the lever that contacts the micro-switches with tape or something like that, but this seems "kludgey". Why doesn't the upper part of the lever fully depress the micro-switches when the lower part is pushed? What parts need to be replaced? I don't seem to have a "broken tab" issue, but I couldn't really tell without taking everything apart. Thanks
1 Answer Hello David, While it sounds like you probably have a part that is malformed causing your issue, I'm sorry but we will need to ask you to please post a new question including the verified model number from the units' I.D. tag since it will not come up for us as a valid model number. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Read More...
Avery May 16, 2017 for Model Number Frigidaire FFHS2622MBNA I have a Frigidaire side by side fridge and freezer and the water and ice dispensers have stopped working, while both the crushed and cubed ice LED lights are on at the same time. The ice machine still makes ice, so it doesn't seem to be the water line; however, I'm not sure how to diagnose the problem. Additionally, we checked the child's lock and that is not engaged (at least we can turn it on and then back off and it still won't dispense ice or water). We've already replaced the water filter, and it still won't work. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
1 Answer Avery, With ice and water not working you will want to check the wire harness connection at the door hinge to make sure that there are no broken or damaged wires. If this checks ok then the issue will most likely be a faulty dispenser control board 242053503. Read More...
