For Frigidaire Refrigerator Dispenser Switch (Part Number: OEM20662020)

1 Answer

David, You will want to pull the unit out and put a meter on the dispenser part of the valve. You will then want to make sure that when the dispenser lever is pushed it should have 120 vac to the water valve. If there is proper voltage then this will be a bad valve. If there is not then the switch would likely be the issue.

Hello Stephen, if you can get the water to stop flowing when you unplug the unit from the wall then the culprit will be the switch 241689106. If you have to turn off the water tap, then it will be your water valve part number 242252702. Hope this helps!

Hello Kevin, This will most likely be an issue with the dispenser board. For a proper diagnosis, we would need you to please post a new question including the model number from the units' I.D. tag so we can look up the specific configuration you have in your home. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

Karen, The dispenser switch operates the water and ice and you will want to check the harness at the bottom of the door for corrosion or damaged. If this checks then the issue will be a faulty dispenser control .

Brian, It would be recommended to check for a cracked dispenser lever as it sounds likely that it may be cracked and not allowing full depression of the switch.

David M. for Model Number Kitchenaid KSSM48QS01

Ice won't dispense when I push the dispenser lever with a cup, even with force all the way to the back. If I pull the cup away and reach in to grab the ice door with my hand before the delay plunger allows it to close fully, and then pull the door all the way open (towards me), then push the lever with the cup, ice will dispense. I've taken off the dispenser cover to see what is going on and it looks like when I push a cup against the dispenser lever, the upper portion of the lever doesn't quite push the micro-switch on. However, when you move the door fully open by hand, then push the lever (lower part), the upper part does reach and fully engage the micro-switch. If I push the back of the micro-switches and then push the dispenser lever with a cup, the upper part does engage the micro-switches. I suppose I could shim the back of the micro-switches to push them forward a bit, or build up the upper part of the lever that contacts the micro-switches with tape or something like that, but this seems "kludgey". Why doesn't the upper part of the lever fully depress the micro-switches when the lower part is pushed? What parts need to be replaced? I don't seem to have a "broken tab" issue, but I couldn't really tell without taking everything apart. Thanks

Hello David, While it sounds like you probably have a part that is malformed causing your issue, I'm sorry but we will need to ask you to please post a new question including the verified model number from the units' I.D. tag since it will not come up for us as a valid model number. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

Avery for Model Number Frigidaire FFHS2622MBNA

I have a Frigidaire side by side fridge and freezer and the water and ice dispensers have stopped working, while both the crushed and cubed ice LED lights are on at the same time. The ice machine still makes ice, so it doesn't seem to be the water line; however, I'm not sure how to diagnose the problem. Additionally, we checked the child's lock and that is not engaged (at least we can turn it on and then back off and it still won't dispense ice or water). We've already replaced the water filter, and it still won't work. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Avery, With ice and water not working you will want to check the wire harness connection at the door hinge to make sure that there are no broken or damaged wires. If this checks ok then the issue will most likely be a faulty dispenser control board 242053503.
