Todd January 31, 2017 for Model Number FRS26H5ASB4 I took apart the dispenser to check the micro-switches and the dispenser parts. When I went to put it back together, the auger motor would start to turn and the cubed ice solenoid would run continuously when I plugged the 6 prong connector in. It would only do this if the power board was plugged into the control board. The switches were fine.
1 Answer Hello Todd. If the switches are fine, you will need to order and replace the control board on the unit. Read More...
Elvis August 18, 2016 for Model Number Fridgedaire side by side about 3 yrs old Dispenser will not dispense ice or water. Both LED lights on cubed and crushed ice are lit up. Ice maker still makes ice. I just changed water filter out about 4 days before this problem occurred. When you push the paddles nothing happens no noise nothing except the night light comes on, but no ice or water comes out.
1 Answer Hello Elvis. You need to check and make sure the child lock on the dispenser is not turned on. If so, it will cause this. Read More...
Ron January 17, 2016 for Model Number GLHS66EFSB2 Hi. The ice dispenser mechanisum on the outer door of my refrigerator has a continuoud but slow drip onto the drip plate I find no foreign objects blocking the flapper. I have cleaned the exposed surfaces and lowered the freezer temperature to #7 but it is still leaking. Any ideas?
1 Answer Hello Ron. You need to check the rotary damper 241689301 and see if it is bad and needs to be replaced. It may not be letting the flap close all the way on the unit. Read More...
Packman August 20, 2015 for Model Number GLHS68EEB0 Ice maker only dispenses crushed ice in crushed or cubed position.
1 Answer Hello Packman. You will need to check the solenoid 241675704 and see if it is bad in the unit. If it is good, then it sounds like the power board 241708102 may be bad. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Richard January 31, 2015 for Model Number FRIGIDAIRE Refrigerator- GLRS267ZAB4 My water dispenser will not shut off. I have to unplug my refrigerator, or unplug the refrigerator control panel to get the water to stop. I was wondering how to tell if its the micro switch or the control panel that needs to be replaced?
1 Answer Richard, You will want to pull the dispenser and check the switch for the water lever dispenser to make sure that it does not have continuity when not pushed in. If it does then it would need to be replaced. If not then the relay in the dispenser power board is faulty and would need to be replaced. Read More...
1 Answer Don, You will want to pull the dispenser and make sure that the dispenser lever is making contact with the switch. If this checks ok then test the water valve to make sure that there is 120 vac getting to the valve. If there is then the disconnect the tube at the bottom of the door and push the dispenser to see if water comes out. If it does then the line in the door is frozen. Read More...
Tim July 08, 2014 I have a 2006 frigidaire with ice and water on the door. the frig makes ice and despenses water but the ice despensor isn't working . the auger spins freely with a turn of the hand No clicking sound when the actuator is depressed, and not motor engaging. the actuator is in one piece and doesn't appear broken. the water and ice despensors appear to be on the same switch.
1 Answer Tim, You will want to check the motor to see if there is 120 vac getting to it when the lever is pushed. If there is 120 vac getting to the motor but not working then the auger motor is faulty and would need to be replaced. If no power to the motor then it is most likely the power board causing the issue. Read More...
George July 07, 2014 for Model Number 253.44333600 I spoke with another of your reps last week about a problem I am having with my Kenmore Pro Frig. But we didn't get it resolved and it got too late at night. Anyway, I had a broken flapper door on my ice dispenser that I replaced last week. That all went well except after I put it all back together now the "auger" that pushes the ice out of the door runs constantly once the door is closed. I have checked all of the micro switches and they are operating correctly. ( I even unplugged the one for the ice dispenser and it still runs all the time) I am thinking that somehow the main power board in the door which holds the relays for the Ice and Water, etc. is messed up now. The relay seems stuck on. Only time I can get it to now auger is if I hold the water lever in with the door open then keep it in and close the door . Then water comes out of that dispenser but once I let off the lever the water stops (as it should) and the ice auger kicks back in. What do you think?
1 Answer George, In a lot of cases the issue with the ice dispenser continuously running is caused by a faulty ribbon harness 241680002 that goes between the outer panel and the power board. The harness shorts out when removed and can cause this issue. That would be the first place to start. Check the connections and make sure that the harness is pushed in all the way on both sides and check the connections to make sure that there is no deterioration and clean the ends with an eraser. If this does not correct the issue replace the harness and if the issue persists then replace the power board. Read More...
Joe March 01, 2014 for Model Number GE Model TFX26ZPDA BB Ice maker won't dispense ice. Front panel will dispense water Ice maker makes ice. When front panel button is pushed for ice, the solenoid engages, but no voltage is applied to the motor. Motor isn't seized (can turn by hand). I'm guessing the culprit is whatever board supplies voltage to the ice dispenser motor, but I'm definitely open to other ideas. Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Joe. If you are sure there is no power to the motor, you will need to test the micro switch in the dispenser and make sure you have no broken wires at the door hinge on the unit. Read More...
