Hello Ron. You need to check the rotary damper 241689301 and see if it is bad and needs to be replaced. It may not be letting the flap close all the way on the unit.

Richard, You will want to pull the dispenser and check the switch for the water lever dispenser to make sure that it does not have continuity when not pushed in. If it does then it would need to be replaced. If not then the relay in the dispenser power board is faulty and would need to be replaced.

Don, You will want to pull the dispenser and make sure that the dispenser lever is making contact with the switch. If this checks ok then test the water valve to make sure that there is 120 vac getting to the valve. If there is then the disconnect the tube at the bottom of the door and push the dispenser to see if water comes out. If it does then the line in the door is frozen.

Tim, You will want to check the motor to see if there is 120 vac getting to it when the lever is pushed. If there is 120 vac getting to the motor but not working then the auger motor is faulty and would need to be replaced. If no power to the motor then it is most likely the power board causing the issue.

George for Model Number 253.44333600

I spoke with another of your reps last week about a problem I am having with my Kenmore Pro Frig. But we didn't get it resolved and it got too late at night. Anyway, I had a broken flapper door on my ice dispenser that I replaced last week. That all went well except after I put it all back together now the "auger" that pushes the ice out of the door runs constantly once the door is closed. I have checked all of the micro switches and they are operating correctly. ( I even unplugged the one for the ice dispenser and it still runs all the time) I am thinking that somehow the main power board in the door which holds the relays for the Ice and Water, etc. is messed up now. The relay seems stuck on. Only time I can get it to now auger is if I hold the water lever in with the door open then keep it in and close the door . Then water comes out of that dispenser but once I let off the lever the water stops (as it should) and the ice auger kicks back in. What do you think?

George, In a lot of cases the issue with the ice dispenser continuously running is caused by a faulty ribbon harness 241680002 that goes between the outer panel and the power board. The harness shorts out when removed and can cause this issue. That would be the first place to start. Check the connections and make sure that the harness is pushed in all the way on both sides and check the connections to make sure that there is no deterioration and clean the ends with an eraser. If this does not correct the issue replace the harness and if the issue persists then replace the power board.

Hello Joe. If you are sure there is no power to the motor, you will need to test the micro switch in the dispenser and make sure you have no broken wires at the door hinge on the unit.
