David November 11, 2012 for Model Number GE RANGE MODEL JB500GD THE LARGE RIGHT FRONT BURNER DOES NOT HEAT. IT HAS THE FEATURE WHERE YOU CAN SWITCH FROM 4-6-8 INCH HEATING. ALL THE OTHER BURNERS PLUG IN, THIS ONE IS HARD WIRED. WHAT DO I NEED.?
1 Answer David, If theres no visible damage to the element WB30X219 and when you raise the cooktop, if there are no visible damage to the wiring to the element, and the attachment screws are tight. you'll need to check or replace the burner selector switch WB24X5011 or the infinite control switch W10900107 If the selector switch is at fault, it is no longer available and will need to be "bypassed" for the element to operate as an 8" element. Raf February 21, 2012 I need a 6" and an 8" elements for my 1962 (or thereabouts) GE counter top range. The original elements connect to a ceramic block. Inside the ceramic block, the elements are secured to wires by nuts and bolts. You seem to offer the elements with loop ends, which is what I think I need. The terminal ends on the elements are definitely not spade-type. The center button of the element says "CALROD" if that helps. Is this correct terminal? Sorry, no serial number info available. Thanks in advance.
