Bob B. March 31, 2014 for Model Number GE MDL# GSS25JFPACC The fan inside my freezer section is constantly running. Temperature in the freezer is -5 and refrigerator is 38. Compressor seems to be working correctly. I'm thinking it is the thermostat. Anything else I should consider?
1 Answer Hello Bob, The first thing I would recommend is to clean the coils behind the unit. After doing this you may have to adjust the temperature inside the unit to avoid freezing anything in the fresh food side, (especially on the top shelf). If this doesn't solve the issue, the temperature sensors should be checked since something could be covering it or it could be out-of-tolerance. Read More...
James March 30, 2014 for Model Number DSS25KGRA WW Refrigerator section has food and beverages freezing throughout the whole compartment regardless of temperature setting. Is this the temperature sensor I need? Which one?
1 Answer James, Most likely the sensor is not the issue with the unit. You will want to pull the duct assembly down and check the damper door that is in the duct to see if it is broken. This is the most likely cause for the unit freezing in the refrigerator section. If the part is broken you will need to replace the duct assembly which is part number WR49X10091 Read More...
Miguel March 12, 2014 for Model Number GE ZFGB21HXCSS Thank you for trying to help me locate the thermistor in the fresh food compartment for model GE ZFGB21HXCSS: " If you look inside the fresh food cabinet you will see the sensor cover part# WR02X10647. The thermistor [WR55X10025] is behind this cover. Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, March 12, 2014" Unfortunately, this answer does not help. I looked for the cover. It is easily spotted on the right side in the freezer but even after taking out the shelves, etc. in the fresh food, I do not see the cover. So, do you have any idea where I should look? On the right side, left side, top or elsewhere? The model GE ZFGB21HXCSS is bottom drawer freezer style with 2 doors on top. Oh, and the parts diagram on your website does not help me locate the thermistor, either. Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Miguel. According to the information we can find. Thermistor should be located on the upper left wall, somewhere around the vent. Read More...
Peter March 12, 2014 for Model Number GSH25JSTFSS My refrigerator/freezer suddenly stopped cooling. The compressor sounds and appears to run fine, along with fan. No buildup of frost on evaporator coils. Evaporator fan runs fine. All seems to run as normal but not cooling. Tubing from compressor is cool when running, but not really cold. Could temperature sensor be issue? What else to check? Please help.
1 Answer Hello Peter, If the compressor is running and there is no cooling and no frost anywhere, the issue is going to be either a loss of Freon, a restriction in the sealed system, or an inefficient compressor. The next check that needs to be done is connecting a set of gauges to see what the pressures are inside the sealed system. Read More...
Miguel March 12, 2014 for Model Number GE ZFGB21HXCSS I believe our refrigerator needs a new thermistor in the fresh food section. However, I cannot find its location and the parts diagram does not help much. We have model # GE ZFGB21HXCSS. Can you help me pinpoint its location? Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Miguel. If you look inside the fresh food cabinet you will see the sensor cover part# WR02X10647. The thermistor [WR55X10025] is behind this cover. Read More...
Semih February 24, 2014 for Model Number PSS25NGNA Ww, GE Refrigertor The compressor makes a "knocking" noise after it shuts off. Sometimes the noise is quite loud. Does this mean the compressor is going out? The refrigerator works fine. I opened back cover, blew all the dust, lint off (this did not help). Also checked if the compressor was lose, it was not; did not notice any bumper type of external washers either.
1 Answer Hello Semih. The unit could run for years like that or it could fail at any time. To repair the unit, you will need to replace the compressor on the unit. Read More...
Jennifer February 19, 2014 for Model Number DSS25KSRDSS Been having problems with freezer not freezing & fresh food side not staying cold enough. Then when I opened refrigerator side digital panel where you adjust temp was not on, no digital readout at all. The lights all go on inside. And I don't see the component on diagram.
1 Answer Jennifer, You will want to test to make sure that there is power going to the user interface from the control board. If there is power then the user interface WR55X10424. Read More...
Jim February 16, 2014 for Model Number GSH25JSXL The unit is cooling the freezer and refrigerator. However, the unit will not stop running. The top of the freezer is a little cooler than the bottom..which might be expected(?)

1 Answer Hello Joy, The most common failure on the defrost section of this unit is the defrost heater WR51X10055. This will be the case if there is a frost build-up on the back wall of the freezer compartment. If not, you should check the fans for full speed normal operation and there is no frost build-up in the damper assembly WR09X10050. Read More...
Semih February 08, 2014 for Model Number PSS25NGNA WW Lately, the fresh food section is cooling too much. Even though the thermostat is set at 37 degrees (F), the temperature fluctuates between 30 and 34. I read that this can be due to a bad thermistor. Is that right?
1 Answer Semih, You will want to pull the air duct assembly down and check the damper in the duct assembly for being broken or having a broken damper at the bottom behind the custom cool drawer. If the damper at the top of the unit is broken then you will need part number WR49X10091 and if it is the lower section then part number WR60X10062 for double and WR60X10063 for single. Read More...
