The Control Panel is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool built-in dishwashers. It is the control panel located on the front façade, comprising buttons to select cycles and indicator lights showing progress. This interface allows for efficient operation through simple input of wash selections.

Causes of a failing control panel involve damage to electronic components from moisture exposure over time. Wiring degradation or faulty circuit boards can also disrupt intended functions.

Symptoms of an inadequate control panel include:

  • Unresponsive buttons that do not initiate cycles
  • Light indicators that do not illuminate properly
  • Erratic or unexpected dishwasher behavior

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

For Whirlpool Control Panel (Part Number: OEM17884719)

Sidnod for Model Number KUDS01FLSS6

KitchenAid Superba Dishwasher will not start. Originally had to replace door balancers b/c the strings had broken. In addition, door would still not stay closed. Fixed the door balancer issue so at least door wouldn't crash to the ground whenever the door would come unlatched. Then removed door strike, bent it a bit and re-installed. Door now stays closed but dishwasher will not run. Have power. Control panel seems to be working fine. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Sidnod, It is possible that when you bent the door strike it cause the strike to not make contact with the switches on the latch which would cause the unit to not run.

Colin G for Model Number KUDS01FLSS6

I have a KitchenAid Superba - 7 years old. The membrane is worn through on the Start button. Also, the button won't work - pressing the "cancel" button runs a small segment of a cycle (not sure which one, but it's not water) and then the machine shuts down. If I press the "nomal" button, and the green LED comes on, and then press the "Start" button for a few seconds, the light goes out. Can't run a cycle at all now. DO I need to replace the user interface AND and the control panel - and will this solve the problem? Thank you!

Collin, You're on track, you'll need to replace the control panel/keypad assembly. If the control board does not "see" an input from the touchpad, it will "shut down".

Hello Phil, Changing the console on the dishwasher is not difficult. Remove the torx head or phillips screws holding panel in place and take off. Once this is done then swap everything over and reinstall.

Hello Bill. 1. Remove the six (6) screws securing the control panel to the door frame. 2. The control panel will now drop down and be free of the door assembly. The wiring harness will remain connected to the console components. 1. Disconnect the ribbon connector and the wiring harness connectors from the electronic control board. 2. Use a flat bladed screwdriver to depress the holding tabs at the left end of the control board assembly while pulling up. SPLIT CONTROL MODELS 3. Once the Electronic Control Board is removed, a ribbon cable interconnect board is exposed. 4. Unsnap the interconnect board from the control panel assembly W10775980. 5. Disconnect the three ribbon cables from the interconnect board. Hope this helps.

Sal for Model Number KUDS01FLSS6 KitchenAid

Good Morning. Here's my problem. The "start" button doesn't seem to engage. There is power to the control panel. All buttons light up when pressed. The cancel button works. When "start" is pressed, nothing happens. The plastic "skin" over the start button had been worn away over time so that the actual plastic button underneath is exposed but it still worked until yesterday. Any advice on which part I need to get it running as well as how to access it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
