Hey I’m new to frontloaders I bought a used washer got it home plugged it up ran until rinse cycle came on... is it supposed to spin when it’s rinsing if so mine isn’t and it just sets there after a little while u can hear humming like the drain pump is pumping or trying to pump than I get a nd code I know that means not draining so I took panel off cleaned all hoses inside started back up still getting Nd signal... is it my drain pump motor or is a signal not transmitting to the panel.. I have no clue and obviously upset that I bought a broke down washer.. please help

Joey, The model number you supplied is incomplete or incorrect. But, you're on track, yes the washer should drain and spin at the end of the rinse cycle. "you u can hear humming like the drain pump is pumping or trying to pump then I get an ND code I know that means not draining". If the control board doesn't "see" the water level switch reset to the empty setting within a certain amount of time, it indicates the ND (no drain) error code. Check the air tube between the tub connection and the water level switch(disconnect the tube from the switch, and blow in the end of the tube) then replace the drain pump.

Just double-checking. I ordered the drain pump and want to see if I should check anything else. Got an ND code. I drained the washer with the drain hose and it worked until it needed to drain again. ND code again. I could hear the pump on but it sounds funny to me. I disconnected the discharge hose at my drain and no water is coming out with the pump on. Checked the trap of course. With the water drained I could see and feel the impeller spinning but still no discharge with water in the tub. I then created a suction on the discharge hose with my wet vac. I dropped it low and the water drained into a bucket through it by gravity. With that, it seems there are no obstructions since the water makes it through the pump but the pump pushes no water. It's kind of like a pump losing prime or not being primed. If a pump sucks air this happens but there are no water leaks and the pump is low and if it can suck air it would leak water. I figure the pressure switch and hose must be ok because if I manually drain it everything else works. So what do you think?

Hello Tony, If the water pours out with gravity but the pump cannot push the water out, you will need to replace the drain pump DC31-00054A to correct the issue.

Cheif, Check and make sure the drain hoses and pump aren't restricted with debris, make sure the drain hose and drain pipe aren't kinked. twisted blocked, etc. " Check for Foreign material entering the pump or hoses. Check to make sure the wiring harness is connected properly. Check the water pump terminal." There should be little to no water left in the tub and/or tub to pump hose. If all checks are OK, then you will need to check the air tube between the water level pressure switch and the tub assembly. If the air tube is kinked, twisted, pinched or obstructed with debris or sediment the pressure switch will not react properly and cause the ND error code.

Cheif, there is no "coin trap" on a Samsung front load washer, there is a filter DC97-14278A Assy-Filter;heba-Pjt, located behind the small panel at the bottom left of the front panel, on most models. Make sure the washer is empty and remove power, open the panel and remove(unscrew) the filter assembly and remove any debris or obstructions in the pump housing. Always try and include a model number when requesting assistance, Please, some models do not have a filter or coin trap. Thanks,

Eman, with the unit unplugged, any water in the tub would need to be drained out and the coin catch filter would need to be inspected for clogged up sections. The hose going from the tub to the drain pump, as well as the hose going from the drain pump to the standpipe at the wall, will both need to be inspected for any clogs. If these check good, then either the main control is not sending voltage to the drain pump, or the drain pump motor has failed. The drain pump motor can be changed without having to change the entire assembly. Changing the drain pump would be as in-depth as changing the entire assembly.

Phillip, Unfortunately the drain pump would need to be replaced for this issue as the check valve is not showing as being available separately.

Ken for Model Number WF338AAW/XXA

Washer was stopping cycles at 35 minutes, giving error code nd/ns. Did research, purchased the drain pump from your site on June 2, 2017, installed it and all was good - for about a month. Now washer is again stopping the cycle at 35 minutes and giving error code. Any ideas?? Really do not want to have to purchase another pump if that is not the issue. Although, the washer is doing the same exact thing it did prior to replacing the pump. Can hear it trying to drain, but cycle stops at 35 minutes to go and error code comes up. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Washer is about 7 years old. Thanks!!!

Ken, The place to start would be check the drain lines from the bottom of the tub to the outside of the unit to make sure that there is not clog. Also check the filter in the pump housing to make sure nothing is in there. If there is 120 vac getting to the pump motor and the lines are clear but no water going from the tub then this would be a bad pump. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/customerservice/returns.aspx
