1 Answer

Hello Steve. You will need to check your unit and see if it is a 120 volt unit or a 240 volt unit. Then you will buy the correct icemaker assembly DA97-00258C. Hope this helps.

Hello Dave. The manufacture recommends replacing the icemaker assembly DA97-00258C when this issue occurs. However, if you are certain the icemaker is good, and the voltage is the problem, you will need to replace the Main Control Board DA41-00104M. Hope this helps.

Dave---A for Model Number RS2577SL

Follow up on ice maker problem--As stated in my original post the water fill solenoid tests out fine. The water line isn't frozen. There seems to be a lack of connectivity/communication between the icemaker and the processor and the solenoid for ice fill. That plug has a constant voltage of 25vac and doesn't change when the test fill button is depressed on the ice maker. And to repeat The first thing I checked were the switches on the ice maker unit as that would be the start of the trouble shooting procedure.

Hello Dave. If the valve is good, and there is voltage there, then the icemaker assembly DA97-00258C is bad and will need to be replaced. Thanks and Good Luck!

John P. for Model Number RS2534VQ

Every time there has been a loss of electricity in my home, my the refrigerator side always returned back to it's origional setting of 38 degrees. However, the freezer never returns to it's origional setting of -4. Once power is restored there is blinking dash on the LCD, which I have discovered is the code for a faulty ice maker sensor. The coils completely freeze so I open the panel and allow the ice to melt. Can you please advise me as to what I need to order rectify this problem. Thank You , John Pilato

Hi John. After power applied again it judges the freezer temp. and if it is below 41 degrees F, it is judged as a instant power failure while operating and restoring the functions @ the panel display. If it is found it is above 41degreesF, it will execute as extended power failure and Panel Display will be initilized as (automatic setting at -4f/-20c) for freezer and 37.4 F/3c for refridge. Is your ice maker working? Is the frost on the back of the freezer wall, then you need a defrost thermostat part # is DA47-10160H. The Defrost heater is part # []. The freezer thermister is part # DA32-10105R. You do not want a defrost issue which leads into a no-cool. Thank you.

Hi Ernesto. It is very common that the ice maker tray will have a build up of calcium and the cubes will stick and not come out. As cheap as the trays are it is a good idea to have one extra on hand always so you have another one immediately. If the ice maker is rotating and calling for ice, then the tray just needs changed. The ice maker is part # DA97-00258C. The tray is part # DA63-01453B. Thank you.

Todd for Model Number Samsung Fridge model RS256SH

I replaced the ice maker on our Samsung side by side fridge model RS256SH. With the part Part Number: AP4172188. It won't cycle the ice. I can click the harvest cycle to cycyle the ice. It will dump the ice return to the up position and fill with water. Then I will hear 2 beeps from the fridge. Is there another issue with the fridge or ice maker that wouldn't allow the ice machine to run. Any advice would be great. I have had the new ice maker in for 2 weeks and won't cycle at all. The stop bar appears to be functioning fine. I had the same issue with my old ice maker that is why I bought a new one to fix the problem.

Hello Manlin517. There is a test button under the bottom corner of the icemaker to run a harvest cycle. Press this button and see if the unit brings in water. If so, it should work properly. Make sure you have the icemaker turned on. Hope this helps.

Hello Todd! The icemaker thermostat indicates the ice is frozen and it is time to dump the ice and cycle. The thermostat has to achieve a temperature of 14 dgrs. or less to close and cause the timer motor to run and cycle. Thanks!
