Questions & Answers

For Samsung Refrigerator Icemaker Assembly (Part Number: OEM12516573)

Hello Chris, You should first unplug the refrigerator and remove the control board cover on the back of the unit and unplug and reconnect the icemaker jack from the terminal marked CN90 several times to ensure a good electrical connection. This should be the top vertical jack on the right hand side of the board. If this does not correct the icemakers' operation, I would replace the icemaker DA97-07365G, under warranty if possible, and the control board DA41-00684A. You should also consider the fact that the water valve DA97-07827B contains a flow meter that can experience problems that interfere with control board notification of a proper fill. This will shut down the icemaker to prevent possible overfilling and damage to the home.

Hello Randy. Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Donald, With the icemaker not returning to the start position it sounds like the issue will be in the main control board only sending power for the first part of the cycle.

Russell for Model Number Samsung refrigerator rs269lars

I purchased a Samsung refrigerator rs269lars ice maker from you guys and installed it easily. Ice maker Assembly Part Number: AP4172188 Made by: Samsung. The ice tray filled with water but it is not rotating to drop the ice. I have push the button on the maker assembly and it will cycle and refill but did not drop ice on its own overnight. (Note - the old maker, although overfilling, would still cycle - so that seems to eliminate it being a control board issue) I am hoping there is an easy fix. Any suggestions?

1 Answer

Russell, This issue would most likely be that you may have received a defective icemaker. The sensor on the bottom of the icemaker should sense when the icemaker is ready to dump and send a signal to the control board to cycle. It sounds like the sensor may be bad.
