Chris for Model Number rf4287hars Original ice maker stopped working so I purchased a new ice maker and installed it, but still does not make ice. When I press the reset button, it makes a tray of ice, but will only rotate it half way and does not drop it in the tray. Temperatures are set correctly, not related to the filter and water flow is great. I have reset the panel and even unplugged the refrigerator.
Answer Hello Chris, You should first unplug the refrigerator and remove the control board cover on the back of the unit and unplug and reconnect the icemaker jack from the terminal marked CN90 several times to ensure a good electrical connection. This should be the top vertical jack on the right hand side of the board. If this does not correct the icemakers' operation, I would replace the icemaker DA97-07365G, under warranty if possible, and the control board DA41-00684A. You should also consider the fact that the water valve DA97-07827B contains a flow meter that can experience problems that interfere with control board notification of a proper fill. This will shut down the icemaker to prevent possible overfilling and damage to the home. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Saturday, March 18, 2017
