Grant May 28, 2016 for Model Number RF261BEAESR/AA-0001 Freezer is working, but the fresh food compartment started to ice over and get warm. I spent the last two days thawing out everything. A month ago I heard a loud motor sound, and then it stopped. I believe it was the fan blade hitting ice, then it stopped spinning. Then recently, the refrigerator was not getting very cold. The exchanger is getting cold and the defroster is melting the ice build up. Took the motor out and applied 12v. I could not get it to spin and no resistance on the ohm meter. I assumed the motor eventually fried with the cycling of power on and off. I checked the thermistors, with a ohm meter, and both showed an open line. I checked the bi-metal thermostat, and is showed little resistance. So order (# #6606711) received, new fan, two thermistors and thermostat. I performed the same checks, fan no resistance or didn't spin with 12v. The thermistors and thermostat have no resistance and cold and warm temperature. Maybe the meter is bad, but applied to other tools and they showed resistance, as well as the defroster.
1 Answer Hello Grant, This can be the fan motor DA97-12609C or the control board DA92-00384D causing the issue. The defrost thermostat should show no resistance when at about 20°F. Read More...
Rocky May 22, 2016 for Model Number RS2545SH The freezer side reads the correct temperature on the display on the door but the refrigerator side does not read the correct temperature on the door. It is at 54°F but when I put manual temperature gauge in refrigerator side, it says 40°F. What would cause display on outside of door to read wrong temperature on refrigerator side?
1 Answer Hello Rocky, This can be the Fresh Food Temperature Sensor DA32-10109W, DA47-00095E, or DA32-10105R (any of the three can cause the issue), a wiring issue (normally at the door hinge), or a control DA41-00104Y issue. Read More...
Joel May 01, 2016 for Model Number Samsung refrigerator RF263afrs Two door top, bottom freezer, the fridge keeps chiming on the freezer side, temp jumps all over the place from 20c to 16c give or take, door is closed, seals are good, compressor cleaned, main circuit board was replaced to fix problem, didn't work, any ideas what else can he checked? I say it's the temp sensor, this problem happened last summer, then stopped over winter, now it's started up again. Maybe house temperature and humidity has some effect on something?
1 Answer Joel, It would be recommended to test the sensors on the unit as this will be the most likely cause for this issue. Read More...
Lonnie April 18, 2016 for Model Number rs2555sl Freezer is working fine but refrigerator is not cooling. I took the back cover off inside the refrigerator compartment and the condenser is frozen solid. I cleaned the coils on the back of the unit defrosted all the ice inside the refrigerator it's been running for a day now but the coils are starting to freeze up again. The condenser fan is working
1 Answer Lonnie, You will want to test the temperature sensor on the evaporator coils to ensure that it is good. At room temperature it should have a resistance of about 5K ohms. If not then the sensor is bad and would need replaced. Also check the defrost heater for continuity. If no continuity then it is faulty and would need replaced. If this checks ok and the sensor checks ok then the main control board would be faulty. Read More...
Paul March 31, 2016 for Model Number srs702gdhss / RSG5FURS1 My freezer has stopped cooling. There is no ice on the evap the evap fan is running with doors closed. Compressor and fan at rear of unit run with no fault codes on front panel or inverter pcb LED. The defrost sensor is reading a little low at 4.6k ohms at 25 deg c. The Fridge is running and keeping temp at 3 deg C. Unsure of what to check next could it be the pcb board or low refrigerant levels?
1 Answer Paul, If the unit does not have a full frost pattern on the evaporator coils then the issue will most likely be a sealed system leak in which you would need a service technician to repair. Read More...
Harvey March 29, 2016 for Model Number RFG298AARS/XAA What are the resistance readings for the fresh food evaporator temp sensor DA32-00006S?
1 Answer Hello Harvey. At room temperature(75 dgrs F.), your thermistor should read 5.1k ohms. Read More...
Donna H March 28, 2016 for Model Number RB195bsbb My fridge is freezing food. So I ordered part # DA-32-10105T from you and installed and is still freezing, I see some other sensors and am not sure which one I should order. I am thinking AP4136842. Please let me know if correct. Freezer working fine... just fridge is freezing food. Thanks, Donna
1 Answer Donna, With having replace the DA32-10105T then the most likely cause for the refrigerator to freeze would be the main control board. the other thermistor is for the defrost and would not affect the cooling unless there was a defrost problem. The main control board for this unit is DA41-00293A. Read More...
Shannon March 01, 2016 for Model Number RS2530BBP Hello, I recently changed out the condenser fan/blade, overload relay and capacitor on my Samsung refrigerator. It's still not getting cold. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Shannon. If the compressor is running and the unit does not cool you have sealed system failure and will need an HVAC tech to come out and repair the unit. If the compressor is not running, you will need to replace the main control board on the unit. Read More...
Al February 07, 2016 for Model Number Samsung SRS610 Hi, I have a Samsung SRS610 the fridge runs from power on and cools fantastic but when the defrost cycle cuts in it stays in defrost for a day or so, melting everything in the freezer and warm in the fridge compartment. If I turn it off and back on the compressor kicks over and the same process is repeated. I am led to believe my model does not have a defrost timer part, I have replaced the main control board and tested thermistors at 5K ohms at room temperature - they climb to around 9K ohms at freeze temp. Any ideas what it might be? Thank you.
1 Answer Al, The defrost sensor is the most likely cause for this issue. If the sensor is only getting to 9K ohms then it would be defective and would need to be replaced. Read More...
Chuck November 30, 2015 for Model Number RB215LABP My freezer is not getting cold enough. Temperature on the say -4 put a thermometer in side of freezer and it say 20 unplugged it and lot of water the next day drained out on the inside like it was froze up so I plug it back and started working ok for about 3 to 4 weeks and did the same thing
1 Answer Chuck, This issue would most likely be a defrost system issue. You will want to check the defrost heater, defrost sensor and make sure that they are good. If they check ok then the control board would be the issue. You will need to test the sensor for resistance. Read More...
