Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Refrigerator Air Damper (Part Number: OEM18019983)

Hello Dave. Sounds like the diffuser WP2216112 isnt closing. First check for an air leak around the door seals and at the ice door W10823377. An air leak will cause moisture from the air (humidity) to condense in the diffuser area and it could be blocked open by frost. If no air leak is detected you either have a bad diffuser or, since you have replaced the thermistor, the control 8201673 could be bad. Before you replace the control, unplug the unit for 10 minutes then reconnect to the power supply and see if it resets the microprocessor. Sure hope this helps

Hello Alex. Check and make sure the diffuser WP2216112 in the unit is opening and closing properly. If not, it will cause the items to freeze in the refrigerator. If the diffuser is good, you could have a bad control board 2321712. Hope this helps.

Hello Juan. If there is no defrost problem, you will want to check out the thermistor WP2188819, and the diffuser WP2216112. Make sure the diffuser is opening and closing properly. If so, test the thermistor. It should read 2.7k ohms at 77°. If it is bad, you will need to replace the thermistor. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps.http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
