Steve B January 09, 2014 for Model Number Samsung WF461AB My washer will work fine without any clothes in it, but when I put a load in, it will fill up and go through the wash cycle, but will not drain and spin. It just sits there and then the ND message will eventually come on.
1 Answer Hello Steve. Make sure the drain pump is not clogged. If it is clear, you will need to order and replace the drain pump motor on the unit. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Hamrick. Here are the instructions from the manufacture for testing the pressure switch. If the switch test good, try blowing through the pressure hose and make sure it is not clogged. If the hose is good, you may have a bad pressure switch 34001324. Hope this helps. Water Sensor Check Check Voltage at Pin #6 and #7 of CN3 Reset water level = DC2.5V, 25.8KHz Check Voltage and Frequency at Pin #6 and #8 of CN3 Reset water level = DC2.5V, 25.8KHz You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps.http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Randy K April 11, 2013 for Model Number WF448AAW/XAA Hi - like many others, I had a few ND errors that went away on reset before it basically stopped pumping for good. Cleaned the filter, took all the hoses off, drained fine, all the hoses appear to be fine (no debris, no kinks), no debris in the filter, etc. Replaced the pump and continue to have the same problem. When in rinse & spin mode, sometimes, it will pump out the 1st 1/2 gallon or so of water before it stops, gives a few clicks, and then sits there for 15 minutes before giving the ND error again. I noticed a few others mentioned the pressure sensor, is that a likely next item to try, or do you have any other suggestions? Thanks for the help!
1 Answer Randy, You will want to check the wiring harness, the connector to the pump to make sure that it is ok. If these things check ok then you could eliminate the water level sensor by doing the following: to check Voltage Connector CN7 Pin 6 (Pink) and CN7 Pin 5 (Orange) and connector CN 7 Pin 7 (Violet) and CN7 Pin 5(Orange). Operating voltage at no water in the drum for test one and test 2 operating resistance Power off. To check resistance Connector CN 7 Pin 6 (Pink) and CN7 Pin 7 (Violet), Test 1 should read 2.5vdc and test 2 should be between 22-24ohms. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Mike October 21, 2012 for Model Number mah8700aww Water continues to run and get pumped out but never stops. "OE" Error.
1 Answer Hi. OE = A fault is detected in the water level sensor part # WP34001324. Data shows the water level is at or above the overflow level. Make sure there are no suds in the tub. If so then fill with cold and advance into a spin over and over until all suds are gone. Thank You. Read More...
Ron October 08, 2012 for Model Number wf306bhw/xaa got error code nd, and followed other posts. checked the pump, and it works, and pumps strong when it pumps. hose can be blown through and sucked through, so I assume its fine. Replaced the drain pressure sensor and the washer works just fine, until the 11 minute mark. drains at all the settings, the at 11 minutes it will not drain. if i manually drain it it still will not move forward until it fires the code nd. at that point, i manuially drain it and press start and it caries on, but without draining again. any advice would be so helpful. thank you
1 Answer Hello Ron, The following is the things listed by Samsung to check for the ND fault code: Will Not Drain • Check for any kink on the drain hose. If any, straight it out. • Check for any restriction in the drain hose. • Close the door and press the Cycle Selector dial. For safety reasons, the washer does not tumble or spin with the door open. • When it is freezing outside, check if it is frozen inside the drain hose. • Check if the water level signal input is correct. Go to Board Input Test Mode. • Go to Quick Test Mode and do Drain Pump Test. • Check if there is any twist in the hose (the one between Tub and Drain Pump). • Check if it reads AC 120V at the pump when a spin cycle is selected. • Read the winding resistance of the pump motor. (14.2 7% Ohms) • Check the pump at CN10 (Pin6) on PCB. It should read AC 110~120V. (Refer to PCB Connector Check) Drain Motor Check: Check Voltage at Pin #1 of CN5 and Pin #6 of CN10 Connections 120VAC from the main board to the pump motor Pump motor resistance Restriction in the pump or drain hose If you continue to have problems, please let us know. Teri C September 11, 2012 for Model Number mah8700aww My washer is no longer draining-checked hose and it is clear. What should I do?
1 Answer Hello Teri. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the drain pump may be bad. You need to test for power to it. If so, and the pump does not drain, replace the pump. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Brett August 14, 2012 for Model Number MAH8700AWW I've replaced the pump and pressure sensor, but the pump won't turn on when it goes into the rinse cycle. The machine starts normally, fills up and washes, but won't drain. It will even do a spin only cycle. The hoses are not clogged, because it will drain when I syphon the water out. Is it a bad control panel, or did I get a defective pump? Thanks.
1 Answer Brett, We'd presume a new part would be operative, but anything can happen. We'll send you some information so you can conduct the board out test and check for voltage to the new drain pump, from the control board, with a multi meter. You'll be able to better determine wether you have a faulty control board, drain pump, or broken wire. Read More...
Ray June 13, 2012 for Model Number MAH8700AWW I am getting an nd code and washer is not draining all the water. Unit will not spin. I have checked all hoses, replaced the pump and still getting same results. Pls help
1 Answer Hello Ray. If the hoses are clear, and the pump is new, and the wiring is good, and no power to the pump, you will need to replace the control board 34001494 in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Tim May 27, 2012 for Model Number MAH8700AWM I am getting error code "nd" and the washer stops with water left in the tub. I have taken the pump apart and the impeller is fine. The pump works to remove most of the water, but stops with around 22 minutes left in the wash cycle. I have checked for obstructions in the air dome hoses and in the hose from the tub to the pump. What else could be the problem?
1 Answer Hello Tim, First remove the hose from the inlet side of the drain pump and check for debris. If none found, remove the other end of this hose from the outer tub and check for debris. While the hose is off of the pump, blow through the drain hose towards the drain pump. If this is clear also, replace the drain pump WP34001320. The impeller has probably separated from the drain pump motor shaft. The problem could be in the control, but the pump is the more common failure on these units. Read More...
