Bc December 04, 2011 for Model Number MZD2766GEW Frig and Freezer just stopped working. Took the back off and cleaned it but there doesn't seem to power to the compressor. Lights work but nothing else? Is it a bad run compacitor or compressor? Need your help!
1 Answer Hello Bc. If there is power to the lights, but no power to the compressor, you will need to check and see if the unit is stuck in defrost. If so, you will need to replace the defrost control board 61005988. If not, the temperature control may be bad, or there could be a burnt or broke wire on the unit. Hope this helps. Read More...
Bill November 28, 2011 for Model Number MSD2454GR I'm thinking the capacitor in my side by side refridgerator may be burned out. It's not letting my compressor kick in. It's not making the refridgerator cold. Any advise you have for me would be appreciative. Thanks Bill

Kat November 21, 2011 for Model Number MSD2454GRW 2003 Maytag side by side not cooling. When it's plugged in , lights work, fan comes on, compressor hums and then a click and the compressor does not run. Was working fine 2 days ago. Not equipped with a capacitor. Would a starting kit help?

Joe G. November 14, 2011 for Model Number MSD2458GEB 10 year old side-by-side Maytag. Compressor is constantly running and fridge/freezer warm so I had a technician come. He charged the system with freon ($150) and did nothing else. Since then the freezer is cold, mid setting and temp is near 0 degrees F. The fridge side however is around 44. My biggest concern is that the compressor has been constantly running and won't shut off (4 days now). I've adjusted the freezer and fridge settings a couple of time to try and get them where they should be (fridge @37deg, frez @ 0). Any thoughts?
1 Answer Hi Joe. The auto damper assy. part # WP61005991 opens to allow the freezer air in. It comes in an assy already installed in its mount bracket. You will need to transfer old parts onto this housing. You immediately can remove the lower control cover and unscrew the damper off the mount. Then find a way to open this damper door @ approx. 50 % until you get the new part to get you back to more normal fresh food temperatures. Thank You. Read More...
Mary L. November 05, 2011 for Model Number TS22AF I HAVE 19 YEAR OLD ESTATE SIDE BY SIDE FRIDGE. IT STOPPED COOLING. THE FAN RUNS BUT IT DOESN,T COOL OR FREEZE.
1 Answer Hi Mary. You may just need to replace the comp. relay assy. If you remove power and remove the relay. Mark all wires disconnected, for ease of reassembly. Shake the relay, is it noisey? If so you need to replace it , Part # 8201786. If not then you will need to replace the compressor part # W10309990. Thank You. Read More...

Rob August 22, 2011 for Model Number Kitchen Aid KBFA25ERSS01 6 year old refidgerator that recently made a crackling electrical burn up noise along w/ the smell of electrical parts being fried. Since then refrigerator is way too cold to the point of freezing stuff. Temp is set @ 38 degrees as per recommendation by Kitchen aid. Get readings as low as 20 degrees w/ pocket thermometer even when fridge says 38. Called repairman in and his diagnosis was a bad thermistor and temperature computer??? Is diagnosis correct? I found the thermistor in the parts section for this fridge but not a temp. computer. What would that be? Freezer seems to be fine although he said that was running colder than it should be as well. Any help appreciated. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Rob. The temperature control board is the electronic control board WP12782036SP. If the thermistor and control board is bad, the unit does not maintain proper temperature. Hope this helps. Read More...
Susan May 16, 2011 I have a year and a half old Frigidaire refrigerator that stopped cooling. We read the book and it said the relay switch may have gone bad. Frigidaire voided our warranty because we took the relay switch out, like the book said to. How do we know if thats what it is?
1 Answer Hello Susan! You would need to use a multi-meter to test the continuity on that part. I will include a link on how to use a multi-meter. I hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Patrick May 14, 2011 for Model Number MZD2766GEB 7 Year old Maytag side by side, used for 3.5 years then stored in garage for 3.5 years. Re-deployed two weeks ago and worked fine for a while then freezer stopped working two days ago. Opened up back and an animal was building a nest around the compressor. All cleaned out but freezer still not cooling. Compressor was pretty warm. No sign of chewed wires or anything else. Could this nest have destroyed a relay?
1 Answer Hello Patrick. You could have a relay/overload problem, if the compressor got to hot. Listen to the compressor, and see if it hums and then clicks. If so, you will need to replace the relay/overload kit 12002784. Here is a link to our Repair Forum, this is a free service to our customers. Use this link to access the repair for your question. Sam April 13, 2011 for Model Number Kenmore 59662842101 12 year old refrigerator has stopped cooling. Compressor is very hot. Fan, lights inside, all is working ok. I suspect the starter relay as I hear a click, click on and off every 20 or 40 seconds or so. What can you tell me? Agree or something else?
