Paul August 04, 2012 for Model Number WTW57ESVW0 Trying to service agitator by installing new cam kit. Can't get the bottom agitator lowered on the splined shaft and hold down bolt will not reach when assembling both halves of the agitator for reinstall. Any suggestions short of buying a new agitator assembly?
1 Answer Hello Paul, This sounds like you may have gotten the cam driven bearing or the cam itself mis-installed. I would dis-assemble it one more time to insure that the items are placed in the correct order and not upside down. Faith April 05, 2012 for Model Number whirlpool I just replaced the feed dogs on my agitator. I still have the same problem. If I hold the agitator down, it agitates fine. But while watching it agitate with a load of clothes, it's just spinning around in a circle. Could I have installed it improperly, or is this a problem with some other parts?

Melinda November 23, 2011 for Model Number lsc9000pw0 On high agitation the machine makes a rhythmic grinding noise. It doesn't make the noise on low agitate. I replaced the entire agitator assembly & it still makes the noise. It sounds like when the dog ears were bad a few years ago. With a mechanic stethoscope I can hear the noise at the metal surrounding the brake & at the clutch but I don't hear anything unusual from the gear case. What would cause this if not from agitator assembly?
