Lesa, With the location of the fill tube and ice maker, you'll need to open the drawer and remove the upper baskets, or remove the drawer. Use a blow dryer and very carefully circulate the hot air around and over the fill tube. (Don't overheat the area, you can create larger problems). If the fill tube is frozen, you'll want to replace the water inlet/fill valve WP2307650 most of the time a frozen fill tube is due to a fill valve that doesn't seal completely and drips water into the tube, causing it to freeze.

Hello Bill. You will need to check and see if your fill tube is frozen and blocking the water. Also check all you wiring if the fill tube is clear.

My ice maker was producing ice in the ice maker assembly try but it was not dispensing ice into the bucket in the door. I got a new ice maker assembly from this website. Very nice site & great pricing. Anyway, I replaced the ice maker assembly & now I don't ice at all. It's almost as if the water isn't running. I was careful to make certain the black rubber hose on the right side of the ceiling was dropped into the ice maker assembly. It made ice before replacing. In fact, I had to remove ice cubes from the original ice maker. Could I have done anything wrong during replacement? Any tips?? Thank you!

Dwade, When initially installing the icemaker you have to give the unit several hours to start producing ice. If it still has not produced then check the emitter board. When you open the door, on the right side there will be a flashing light. If you then push the flap on the left wall the light should glow solid. If it is not glowing solid but continues to blink then this will be a faulty emitter board which will need replaced. The part number for this board is W11629974.

Jule, The bracket is the white piece that the icemaker sits on. As for the tub if you bend the tube up to get it over into the fill cup then this will take care of that issue.

Hello Steve, This indicates there is not an issue with the optics and you should look at the icemaker or water valve as the cause of the issue. If the icemaker stopped full of ice, the icemaker 2198597 should be replaced. If it stopped empty, the water valve W10408179 is normally the cause.

Hello Vicky. Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Star, We are unaware of any recalls on these icemakers and you would want to check for broken parts on the ice bin just to make sure that it is not damaged.
