John G March 07, 2013 for Model Number kuds01fl ss2 The dishwaher duty lights will come on when depressed but washer will not start. When cancel is depressed the drain pump will run. What part do I need.
1 Answer John, You will want to make sure that water is running into unit. If no water then you will want to check to make sure that there is power going to the water valve. If power going to water valve but no water entering unit then you will need to replace water valve. Read More...
Nagesh February 21, 2013 for Model Number KitchenAid KUDS01IL Hi, My dishwasher generally works fine. However, every now and then it stops randomly. After opening/closing the door or cancelling and restarting, it generally works after a few tries. I had a tech come in to check thinking that it is a drainage problem. However, he said the drains are all fine. He told me that the control panel may be bad. Do you think this is the problem or do you suspect something else? thanks, Nagesh
1 Answer Hello Nagesh, It could be anything from water temp not right and taking longer to heat the water to proper temp to the control panel being faulty. If you access the tech sheet under the toe panel there should be a way to put the unit through dianostics which will help to determine the exact problem. Read More...
Dan February 17, 2013 for Model Number kudsq2frsso The dishwasher starts and runs normally. After 20 to 30 min. it shuts down completely. No motor, no lights, nothing. After 10 or so min. the lights come back on and the unit can be restarted and will continue in the cycle were it left off. The longer I wait to restart the longer it will run before it shuts down again. Seems like that lets it cool down a bit or something. After many restarts and 2 to 3 hours later it finishes the cycle. Any ideas?
1 Answer Dan, You're most likely going to need to replace the control board WPW10084141. It's most likely the temp sense circuit is faulty in the control board and shuts the dishwasher down, because it can't "see" the sensor. But, first thing you want to check, is the connections to the power supply wiring in the junction box on the front frame of the dishwasher, behind the kickplate. A loose connection there could cause the wiring to separate and loose voltage to the dishwasher. Read More...

Wes January 27, 2013 for Model Number 66516534200 Kenmore dishwasher comes on but stops at 76 minutes and does not progress. Water does get hot, but lights indicate both "sensing" and "heating pause". Have been letting it wash a while and then cancel drain and then run quick rinse, which does run through and stops appropriately. While rinsing "sensing" light is lit but no "heating pause". Not sure if we need thermostat or new control panel or what else it could need. Thanks for any help you can provide.
1 Answer Hello Wes, The unit goes into a thermal hold 2 to 3 times during the cycle. If the temperature is never met then the unit will not advance any further. You will want check the resistance of the thermistor and all of the connections in the thermistor circuit. You will also want to check the ability of the control to read the thermistor in the diagnostics. There is a wiring diagram that will tell you the resistance of the thermistor and how to access the diagnostics cycle. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Dale S. January 23, 2013 for Model Number KUDP01ILBT6 I have a Kitchenaid Dishwasher model KUDP01ILBT6 Serial FR5203112. We turned it on and smoke came out of the door. I turned off the power imediately. I found that the control board had a burned spot on it. Everything else looked fine. Your website said that I needed control board WPL 8564543. I bought it and installed it. The dishwasher now runs and cleans the dishes. But some of the lights on the control come on when the buttons are pushed and some do not. For example, the 'rinse only' light comes on when I push that button but the 'normal wash' light does not. I can use the dishwasher this way, although I really do not know which cycle it is using because the lights do not show. But is it safe? Is this the correct control board?
1 Answer Hello Dale. Yes, the board is correct, but the control panel may have been damaged as well and will need to be replaced. Read More...
Alina January 07, 2013 for Model Number 66515933000 just got electronic board, but the old one has 4 prongs while the new one has only 3 prongs . is this competible. how do i install it/
1 Answer Alina, The WP8564543 control board is the correct part number for the model number you supplied. The control board has been re configured by the manufacturer " Per Factory This Sub Should Only Have 3 Terminals. The P4(Y)Terminal Which Was On The Oriiginal Control Has Been Removed and Not Used On This Control" If you havee the P4 yellow wire in the wiring harness to the control, it will not be connected to the control board, you'll want to turn it and tape it to the wiring harness so it is not dangling in the control panel.
