Jillian November 02, 2012 for Model Number KUDD01DPPA1 I have 2 Kitchen-Aid dishwasher drawers. Problem is the same with both of them. After selecting cycle dishwasher fills with water and begins cycle only to stop mid-cycle - and regardless of cycle chosen appears to be stuck, blinking "Heavy/Rinse" litghts and they stop working. I have replaced the rotors in both, dried out the overflow pan underneath but the problem persists. So far it has cost me around $700 and no solution. Latest repair service thought there might be a slight puncture in the top drawer pan and suggested it should be replaced! More cost which as this stage would not be worth it. The control board appears to be sealed in the plastic tub - could this be the problem and if so how does one replace it? Does it mean completely disassembling the dishwashers? Any and all ideas/solutions would be welcomed. Thanks!
1 Answer Hi. Code: Fill failure. Water supply valve turned off. Make sure the valve is cycled on and off a few times to remove any clogs or sediments. Inlet valve part # WP8194068 failed. Check resistance of the solenoid coils, 65-75 ohms per coil. Replace if open or more then 10% out of tolerance. Low water pressure. Incoming water pressure must be above 4.3psi. If the water inlet valve is good then make sure the inlet screen is not clogged. Spray arm not in place. Replace the wash arm in its proper location. Obstructed inlet supply water hose or kinked. Bad wiring to the junction box or the controller. Machine is siphoning. Check drain hose installation so there are no vapor locks creating siphoning. This is the tech sheet for the model. Margo October 27, 2012 My dishwasher (Kitchenaid model # KUDP01DLBT0) does not drain completely at the end of a wash cycle. I have to push the cancel button to get it to drain. We already cleaned all the drain hoses, so there isn't a blockage of any kind. When I press the cancel button, the dishwasher displays "2" for the "2 minute" drain cycle, and the dishwasher drains for the full 2 minutes whether it needs to or not. It makes a horrible rackety sound while it is still trying to drain when there isn't any liquid left to drain. The dishwasher is 8 years old. Could this be a problem with the electronic control panel? If not the control panel, what could be causing this problem? Thanks!
1 Answer Margo, You're going to need to remove and check the drain pump WP661658 and housing for debris, that could be causing the noise and the poor drain performance. Drain pump noise level will incease once the water is drained, but the "horrible rackety sound" is indicative of a problem. " Removing the Drain Pump Motor 1. Kd October 19, 2012 for Model Number KUDI01TJWH0 The cancel drain button just keeps blinking and the other buttons aren't working. I ran diagnostics successfully (all lights working) but after starting with settings of Normal / Air Dry it would just cycle for a few minutes, then drain with cancel drain light on, then just stop. After turning off breaker for 20 minutes and cleaning the control board strap with alcohol the cancel drain is just blinking and won't turn off at all.
1 Answer Hello KD, While you may not have hurt the ribbon cable, hard to say for sure, it is not recommended to clean the ribbon cable with any solvent. The recommended method of cleaning it is by rubbing it only in the direction of the traces toward the end of the cable with a regular pencil eraser. This will leave no residue like alcohol will and as long as the eraser rubs the ribbon along with the traces, will not separate the traces from the ribbon. Brian October 16, 2012 for Model Number Kitchenaid KUDSO1DLSSO The dishwasher does not shut off when its done washing dishes and even after opening door,pressing power button till no lights then when door presses shut it starts ot run. Not sure what cycle it is but door cannot be left shut when using. Is this a control panel problem and is this the one I need for this model? Christopher October 15, 2012 for Model Number KUDS01DJSS1 No lights on the control panel, checked 120vac coming in to the circuit board(ok). I'm assuming it steps down to 24vdc and I'm getting no voltage out, to the door switch, also checked door switch (ok) is this circuit board possibly bad?

There are sensors in the pump, if the sensors inform the control to heat the water or there is a large amount of soil on the dishes, etc. the control extends the cycle, and the displayed time can increase or decrease. Boni October 05, 2012 for Model Number KUDM01TJBT We do not use our kitchenaid a lot. LAst week had a small load and pressed the light wash and start and it worked fine. Last night I had a normal load and pressed normal and start and nothing happened. The only buttons that light up is the cancel/drain where it does go through the process and the lightbbutton which was pressed last week. Is there a reset that could be used? 1 Answer Hello Lotus. If the lights, work, but none of the buttons work, it is not the fuse. If the whole thing is dead, no light nothing, then the fuse 8193762 could be the issue with the unit. Based on your past questions, it sounded like the lights worked, but no buttons worked. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
