Brian B May 08, 2014 for Model Number YKGRT607HS9 I decided to replace the spark units (4) which required the removal of the 3 screws at the bottom of the display. This was straightforward. I did notice that there was a 2 wire connection (P11?) which had removed itself from the control board 9782455. I resoldered the connection back. I noticed that the wires to this connection were solid copper which led to undue torque on the pc board. I plugged the control board back in and reconnected the plastic ribbon connectors from the display panel. Got it all together including the three screws. Everything worked fine for 5 hours. Then the display panel went blank and I heard some tones then nothing. I removed the 3 screws again and then saw the display come alive again. This lasted 12 hours and then went blank again. The tones were heard and there was a symbol showing in the upper right corner which looked like the door lock symbol. It went out too. Should I remove and reinstall the module again or is there a symptom that is recognized here? Seems like a connector problem!
1 Answer Brian, If there was a connection on the board that had to be resoldered then it would be best to replace the control board as there is the potential that the board could have been damaged further. Read More...
Glenn March 24, 2014 for Model Number KERC607HBS8 Oven/stove works, readout/led doesn't, clock/temp readout worked for a day but not now, per diagram which panel 2 or 10 would likely be the cause. Am I headed in correct direction?
Johnny January 28, 2014 for Model Number KESC308LSS0 I have a kitchen aid range that is having issues with control/display board.m#KESC308LSS0. The display does not work unless i apply pressure to the 12 pin wiring harness plug p11. Also when i get display to work it shows that the temperature probe is plugged in when it is not. All other functions work on the stove. I have seen on other websites they offer the display board and the electronic control board separately. Looks like you guys offer only the two combined. My question is do you sell them separately and if so which one would you think i need. Thanks in advance.
1 Answer Johnny, The connector P11 should be a 2 pin connector for the meat probe. If the display is going out until you push on this then try to unplug the harness and see if the display comes back. If it does then the meat probe harness 9755024 is faulty and would need to be replaced. If the display does not come back then the display board WP9782455 is faulty and would need to be replaced. Arnold November 21, 2013 for Model Number 9752834A Hi, Our whirlpool cooktop works fine, however our oven is completely non-responsive or functional. When pressing the control buttons for the oven, it does not respond at all: no sounds, no display, no heat, no oven light. I'm not sure if it's the keypad or the control board 9782455 or both. Any suggestions on how to determine the exact problem or how to proceed? Thank you in advance for your expertise Arnold K
1 Answer Hello Arnold. Check the connection on the ribbon cable. If good, you will need to order and replace the control panel on the unit. Read More...
Rick October 29, 2013 We have a KitchenAid Range, model KESC307HBS8, that after the self cleaning cycle nothing worked except for the fan which runs constantly. It had one open thermal link and I replaced it with no improvement. Whats your opinion?
1 Answer Hello Rick. If the unit does not display, you will need to order and replace the control panel fuse WP4456654 in the unit. Read More...
Mr. B April 11, 2013 for Model Number ykgsc308ls0 I have a Kitchenaid Superba gas range with convection oven. Over the past few months when the range or stove got heated up the lights on the display would flicker then go out. This makes the stove shut off and all the controls (electric display ) do not work till things cool down. This happens now after 10-15 mins. ?? Do you think?
1 Answer Mr B. Based on the description it sounds like the control board may have a weak spot in once of the solder joints and would need to be replaced WP9782455. Read More...
Alix February 24, 2013 for Model Number KESC307HBS8 Our range behaves oddly when we try to use the oven. Sometimes, you can turn the oven on, but it turns itself off minutes later. Sometimes, the touchpad seems to not work-- you can press buttons, but they don't register. It's erratic. We've tried two parts so far to fix the problem, but neither has worked. The parts that have NOT worked include the console (part 9782419CB) and the power board (9782437). I am not sure what the problem is and welcome input. My own uneducated guess is that maybe it is the control board (part 9782455) or something in the wiring? 1. I'd welcome your views about what part may be the problem-- either of the above, or something else? 2. If something in the wiring, is this something that a regular homeowner could address, or are we now in the stage where a visit from an appliance repair specialist is likely required? Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Alix, If you are having a problem with the keypad not registering and you have replaced the touchpad assembly then you have a bad control and it would need to be replaced. Certainly you will also want to check the wiring of the unit for shorts to ground issue but the control would be the most likely suspect. Read More...
Shawn February 10, 2013 for Model Number kgrt607hbs9 The control panel lights of our kitchenaid gas range were intermittently going on and off. sometimes when the oven is on and other times not. Recently they have been off for a few days and then came back on when the oven was warm. When the oven was turned off, they went out again. The oven touch controls work since we are able to turn the oven on, use the timer and other features. Wondering if the thermal fuse could be the cause or the more expensive control board or microprocessor.
1 Answer Hello Shawn, The thermal fuse would not affect the operation of the control board. If the thermal fuse is bad the control will not come on at all. You will want to check the wiring between the power board and the display board. Make sure that there is good connection. If this checks ok then the most likely cause would be a power board WP9782435 issue. Read More...
Alix February 03, 2013 for Model Number KESC307HBS8 We have a malfunctioning range-- particularly when the oven temperature is hot, the buttons on the console start to behave erratically-- the press buttons don't work, basically. We had purchased this part: AP3174907 We managed to install it, but it didn't actually solve the problem. So now I'm not sure where the issue lies - any suggestions?
1 Answer Hello Alix, You will want to check to make sure that your cooling fan is operational. If the fan is not working this will cause the control to overheat and cause the control to not respond. When you pull out the lower drawer the fan is located down in this area. If the fan is operational you will want to make sure that it is blowing out through the ducts. Read More...
Francis January 08, 2013 I have a kitchen aid range, the problem is, it start beeping the door locked and stopped working the oven. Somebody tell us it was the control board, but it has a panel on the botton. Do we have to buy just the control board or both?
